I Heart Fall

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi, everyone!  Kelli here today with a fall card to share with you.  I used the adorable fox from the Lawn Fawn – Into the Woods stamp set for my main image.  I stamped him in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copics:
Fox Body: YR18, YR16, YR15, YR14, YR12
White on Fox: W2, W1
Fox Ears: R20, W2, W1
Heart in Sentiment: R27, R24, YR18, YR16

I cut him out using the matching Into the Woods die set.  The woodgrain frame was stamped with the Lawn Fawn – Woodgrain Backdrops stamp set.  The patterned paper behind the fox is from the Lawn Fawn – Into the Woods 6×6 paper pad.

To make the log for the fox to sit on I stamped the log image from the Into the Woods set twice.  I just stamped the matching ends together and masked off either end so it would be just the right length.  I stamped the sentiment and stamped and cut out a few leaves from the same set.

To finish everything off I added some CraftkinRed Sunset baker’s twine hand stitched around the inner edge of the frame.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂

Snow Angels Shaker Card!

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

It’s Michelle here with a fun shaker card!  Today the leaves were falling like snow from our maple tree in NE Wisconsin.  It was gorgeous seeing the yellow leaves fluttering down in the sunlight!  I decided to go with a wintery image and used the Sammy Making Snow Angels image from Inky Impressions.

I colored Sammy up with Copic markers:  R29, R24, BG10, E44, E42, W7, W5.   I used papers from Prima’s North Country Collection.

Here you can see that I also added some glittery flock to the tops of his boots and his hat.  I added a bit of the glittery flock in with some vintage glass glitter for the shaker box.

‘Tis the Season Snowman

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tips & Tricks

Hi, everyone!  Kelli here today with a Christmas card to share with you!  I also want to share a little tutorial of how I colored the snowman at the end of this post.  For the main image I used the sweet Whiff of Joy – Cute Snowman stamp.  I stamped him with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper and colored him with Copics:
snowman body- B32, B21, W1
snowman arms- E59, E57
snowman nose- YR18, YR16, YR14
hat- C9, C7, C6, C5, C4
scarf- G28, G24 G21, R39, R29, R27, R24, E55, E31, E51
cardinal- R39, R29, R27, R24, E55, E31, E51
snow- B32, B21, B000, B0000

The card base is the Bazzill Card Shoppe – Chocolate Malt.  The thickness of this card stock is great and perfect for card bases!  The background, scalloped edge, main image, and sentiment were all cut out using the My Favorite Things – Blueprints 6 die set.  The patterned paper is from the Echo Park – Reflections Christmas 6×6 paper pad.  The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things – Starry Christmas stamp set.

The twine is from craftkin.com and is in the color Red Sunset.

To finish everything off I added some white gel pen stitch lines to the card base, some glitter to the snow and some Glossy Accents to the snowman’s nose.

To color the snowman I first made little dots around the outside edges using my darkest color, B32.  You will want to have fewest of the darkest dots.

Next I added some dots in B21 in between the other dots and I also brought them out a little further into the center.

Finally I added quite a few dots in W1.  This is the lightest color so you can add more of them and don’t have to be as careful.  I brought these out even further into the center.

You can also color snowmen the traditional way where you blend the colors, but this is a fun alternative!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂
