Elsie and Mouse

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

mp 9.18.13.2Michelle here with a cute little card with a Wild Rose Studio image called Elsie and Mouse.    I paired these cuties up with My Mind’s Eye’s Tangerine collection from The Sweetest Thing.

For a bit of fun I fussy cut some of the flowers from the designer paper and popped them up with foam tape!

Overlap the cut out flowers just a titch over your main image and it makes it look more balanced.

Here are the Copic Markers I used to color my image in a fall color scheme.

I created a floor  with a Copic multiliner pen  in order  to ground the image.   I used a marbleized copic Background Technique  to create some interest  and embellished the card with punch  flowers created out of vellum (my new passion).

I hope you enjoyed this card. I think the image is super adorable and can be used for so many different types of cards and projects. Thank you for stopping by and come back tomorrow to see what wonderful 3-D project marlena has in store for you!

Happy Halloween – Partial Image

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Monday Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  Kelli here today with a little Monday Inspiration for you!  I want to focus on using part of an image which helps you get more use out of your stamps.  The adorable bat girl from the Tiddly Inks – Batty for You stamp set is awesome, but also on the larger side.  She would make the perfect focal point for a card, but for this particular card I wanted to use some of the other elements in the stamp set so I decided to use only part of the stamped image.

I stamped her, the moon/bat, and the tombstone in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics:
hair: R27, R24, YR18, YR16, YR14, YR12
skin: E55, E53, E51, E50, R20 for cheeks
clothes: G03, G24, G21
tights: BV04, BV01, C7, C4
wings, bat/moon, tombstone: C9, C7, C6, C5, C4, C3, C2, C1, C0

I used my Copic Colorless Blender (0) to add little dots to her outfit.

I used the single bat stamp from the stamp set and heat embossed it in clear a few times on the black background.  To use only part of the girl I decided to have her peeking through a circle cutout.  I popped up the black piece to help make it feel more framed or window-like.  The moon/bat, tombstone, and sentiment are all popped up on foam adhesive as well which you can see in the last picture.

I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine – Onyx Black ink which is an amazing ink for getting crisp black images.  To finish everything off I added a thin purple border around the cutout and drew on some white gel pen stitch lines.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope this inspires you to use only part of your stamped images to help get more use out of your crafty stash!  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday – Dog with Balloons

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi, everyone!  Kelli here today with a birthday card to share with you.  You can never have too many birthday cards on hand, that’s for sure!  I used an absolutely adorable image from the Tiddly Inks – Flying High stamp set.  I stamped him in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copics:
C6, C3, C1, C0
BG09, BG07, BG05, BG02, BG01
RV29, RV14, RV13
G28, G24, G21
B34 for Airbrushed Background

I used the cloud dies from the SP & Company – Sunshine Emma die set and made little masks.  I also made a mask for the dog and the balloons.  Then I airbrushed with B34 over the entire white piece.  I love how airbrushing looks, it’s so fun!

The cute little sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  All the patterned paper is from the Echo Park – Here & Now 6×6 paper pad.

I wanted the balloons to stand out a little more so I stamped them on a separate sheet of cardstock and colored them with my Copics.  Then I cut them out and popped them up at varying heights.  You can get a better view of this in the last picture.

To finish everything off I added some white gel pen stitch lines and some Glossy Accents to all of the balloons and the dog’s nose.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂
