Hi, everyone! Kelli here today with a little Monday Inspiration for you! I want to focus on using part of an image which helps you get more use out of your stamps. The adorable bat girl from the Tiddly Inks – Batty for You stamp set is awesome, but also on the larger side. She would make the perfect focal point for a card, but for this particular card I wanted to use some of the other elements in the stamp set so I decided to use only part of the stamped image.
I stamped her, the moon/bat, and the tombstone in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics:
hair: R27, R24, YR18, YR16, YR14, YR12
skin: E55, E53, E51, E50, R20 for cheeks
clothes: G03, G24, G21
tights: BV04, BV01, C7, C4
wings, bat/moon, tombstone: C9, C7, C6, C5, C4, C3, C2, C1, C0
I used my Copic Colorless Blender (0) to add little dots to her outfit.
I used the single bat stamp from the stamp set and heat embossed it in clear a few times on the black background. To use only part of the girl I decided to have her peeking through a circle cutout. I popped up the black piece to help make it feel more framed or window-like. The moon/bat, tombstone, and sentiment are all popped up on foam adhesive as well which you can see in the last picture.
I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine – Onyx Black ink which is an amazing ink for getting crisp black images. To finish everything off I added a thin purple border around the cutout and drew on some white gel pen stitch lines.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope this inspires you to use only part of your stamped images to help get more use out of your crafty stash! Have a great day!
