I created this card using the Mama Elephant – Love Quotes stamp set along with the matching Love Quotes die set. I included a video below so you can watch the whole process!
First I wanted to focus on the speech bubble so I used 3 ink pads from the Tim Holtz – Mini Distress Ink Set #1, Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, and Peacock Feathers. I pressed some color from each of the ink pads onto my nonstick craft sheet and then misted it with water from my Ranger – Mini Mister. I dipped some Tim Holtz – Watercolor Paper into the puddles of ink and then dried it with my heat tool. I did this a second time to the same sheet of paper so that I’d have a second layer of color splotches and then dried it with my heat tool again.
I stamped the two birds from the same stamp set onto the watercolor paper using StazOn ink and then watercolored them using Tim Holtz – Distress Markers in colors:
Then I cut out the birds with the dies from the same Love Quotes die set.
The little ‘love’ that is on the light blue piece of card stock is from the Lawn Fawn – Science of Love stamp set. I stamped it twice so that it would extend the whole length of the strip.
The little ‘love’ strip was empty on the end so I added a tiny heart from the Mama Elephant – Confetti die and colored it with the same Worn Lipstick marker as the girl bird.
To finish everything off I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins in Clear (4mm) and some from the Sweetheart Pack (6mm). I adhered all those down with Glossy Accents and also added some Glossy Accents to the heart.
We can’t wait to see what you come up with for this ‘Distress Marker/Watercolor’ challenge! 🙂
