Wonderful Washi Tape, Take 3!

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Tips & Tricks

Today I’m playing with Washi Tape again for MarkerPop.  I taped a panel and then die cut a circle from it.  That circle I framed with a Spellbinders Die to make an ornament or a card panel.   I used Lawn Fawn’s Winter Fox set for this set.

Next I used the cut off piece as a frame for my card.

For this set I used Lawn Fawn’s Winter Owl.  I colored the images with Copic Markers: R59, R46, YR04, 110, E49, E47, E44, T4, T2, E37, E35.

Finally…a little tip!  How about some Washi Storage?!  I picked up this slacks hanger at a yard sale…and for $1.00 I have a handy dandy holder for my tapes…twine too for that matter!  You don’t even need to take them off to use them!

Monday Inspiration: Colorless Blending

Written by Samantha Peyton. Posted in Monday Inspiration

Hi everyone! Marie and Samantha are here today to share some colorless blending techniques with you! We all know the colorless blender is a great marker for pushing color back inside the lines if you color outside the lines, but did you know you can also make cool textures and patterns with the colorless blender?

Marie has a beautiful textured card to share with you. She used the colorless blender for the flower pot, and for the shirt on her stamped image. She used the colorless blender to add some great texture on her image.

To share even more colorless blending techniques, I filmed a quick video. In this video, I share 3 different ways to create texture with your colorless blender.

We hope that we’ve inspired you to get out that colorless blender and experiment. Do you have a great colorless blender technique to share? Then leave us a comment below and let us know!  Have a wonderful day!

More Magnolia!

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Uncategorized

Michelle here again….and I’ve brought back summertime just because I wanted to play with these adorable images by Magnolia!

My first card features the SM12 Barbed Wire Background and SM12 Little Miss Muu Muu.  I colored the images on my card with Copic Markers:  RV66, RV55, RV00, E04, E59, E57, E53, E40,  E37, E35, E11, E02, E00, B000, B21, B23, Y21, YR23, YR24, YG17, YG67, W7, W5, W3.

I used My Mind’s Eye’s The Sweetest Thing collection in Tangerine to embellish my card…little banners cut from the 6×6 pad and an element from the 28 Decorative Brads set.
My second card features the SM12 Barbed Wire Background and AU12 Tilda with UGG Shoes image.  I needed something for Miss Tilda to put her hand on, so I hand drew a rock for her!

This card is embellished with elements from Simple Stories Collections.

Fall and winter are here…but today in my studio it was still Summertime!

Bella Ornament Gift Box

Written by Samantha Peyton. Posted in 3D

Hi everyone! Ok, so there I was, trying to think of something awesome to make for 3D Thursday &  then it hit me. . . Ornament Box! I decided to make a glitter ornament to go with it.

I spent the better part of an afternoon creating this gem. I went into total crafty geek mode planning this one out with all the measurements for cuts and score marks. It was really fun for me in a totally geeky sort of way. I put in the hard work so you don’t have to! The measurements and steps are kind of long so I have posted step by step instructions on my blog (click here!) if needed. I have added scoring guides at the bottom of this post so you can DIY.  I am super happy with how this one turned out & it would make such a wonderful handmade gift.

Now let’s get to the eye candy. I took LOTS of photos so you can see everything.

For the coloring, I used Copic markers with this cute stamp from Wild Rose Studio. This stamp is called Bella with Sledge. I made a speed coloring video so you can see me color this entire image from start to finish.

All the fun patterned papers I used came from the My Mind’s Eye Wonderland paper pad, available now at MarkerPop.com

Tee hee, this glitter glass ornament is perfect for seeing reflections 😉

And finally, here are the scoring guides:

Dotted lines are score marks. Solid lines are cuts. Click photo to enlarge.

Well that’s it for today, folks!! I hope that you enjoyed it!!
