using this wonderful Holiday stamp I  received in the mail!
I couldn’t take  my eyes off it and just had to ink it up and create this card for you!

I used a beautiful clear stamp called Poinsettias by Penny Johnson (Stampavie).

positioning a breeze!     I am looking forward to using this stamp

Woven Washi Tape Tutorial

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Tutorials

Hello!  Michelle here with a photo tutorial of the Woven Washi Tape technique that I used on yesterday’s Lawn Fawn/Marker Pop Blog Hop!

1.  Choose two tapes that you want to work with.  I chose two 1/2 inch tapes, and so used a 3×3 inch square piece of coated cardstock.  I found that you need to have a cardstock that won’t separate onto the tape as you repeatedly lift the pieces as you are weaving.

2. Continue to add pieces of tape carefully lifting and tucking as you go.

3.  When you are done, trim and tuck the tails behind your panel.   The variety of backgrounds you can achieve is as broad as your Washi Tape collection!

4.  You can vary the pattern of your weave, see the Double Weave Variation above…I simply wove over two strips and then under two strips.

5.  The Faux Weave piece was done with tape that already has a variety of patterns on it.  I simply laid tape down in strips, carefully matching the designs so it looks like I did some fancy cutting, when in reality I simply laid down strips of tape!  The possibilities are endless!

I hope you’ve been inspired you use your Washi Tape in a new way!  I’m pretty sure I’ve inspired myself to purchase some more Washi Tape!!  Love the stuff!

Negative Die Technique

Written by Melisssa Forquer. Posted in Tips & Tricks

Hi ya everyone!  Melissa here on Tuesday Tips & Tricks to show you a simple method for adding some fun dimension to your creations.  I love my fun border dies from My Favorite Things but find I only use them for one thing, creating border cuts on creations.  Today, I decided to us them to create a stencil.  I started with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Jumbo Monarch Border.

First, I took a piece of white paper and simple cut out the die.  I save the actual cut-out and use the negative space for a stencil.

I use a make-up sponge and New Sprout Memento Ink on Neenah white cardstock.  Simple dab some color onto the sponge and ink directly onto card base.

I let the ink dry and then used some Glimmer Mist on the card and let dry.  I added a Lawn Fawn sentiment from Critters in the Forest.  Last I cut out circles and placed on my card with some buttons and twine.

Thanks for joining us today!  I hope you use the simple technique to create your own simple creation.
