Girly Girl!

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

mp 5.8.13.1

It’s Michelle here today with a *girly girl* card!  It was to be a baby card featuring the Welcome Little One sentiments….but I buried them in my studio and couldn’t come up with them …so I’ll just have to make another baby card another day! LOL!

I went with the Whimsy Stamps Ruby image and papers from the Prima Firefly Collection.

mp 5.8.13.2

I used some embroidery around the image to frame it up pretty!

And here are the Copic Markers I used!  I will make another baby card soon…complete WITH sentiments!

Die Frustration???

Hi everyone!!!  Hope you are having a good week.  It’s only day two of the work week and though I dont’ “work”, I am certainly feeling the strain of it all!!  Today though, I hope to help you with a Tip/Trick to help you in keeping your creative juices moving along!  There’s nothing worse than being all psyched to create and then BAM… a knot zaps all your energy and makes you want to throw in the towel.  NOT today!!!

The image I used today was one of my fav illustrator’s, Saturated Canary, “Sketchie”.  Sketchie loves all things colorful… just like me!! LOL  My card was created with a lovely die cut by Marianne’s Dies, “Scallop Circle Frame and Flowers”.  I LOVE how nicely Marianne’s Dies work but… have you ever had one of those dies that just simply drove you nuts?  You know the ones… with ALL those tiny punches and delicate little pieces that sometimes REFUSE to come out of the die??? Oy vey!!!  Well.. I’m happy to tell you I’ve NEVER had that issue with Marianne’s Dies.  So.. for the sake of my “tip” today, let’s “play pretend”.  Hee

MPDie

Of course the first thing is running your die through whatever machine you  use to handle your dies.  No problem, right?  It almost almost cuts the first time and you’re good.  Anxious to remove it and put it on your design!

MPDie2

You see all those nice little areas that most often are pieces that you will remove from your cut.  (In this case the outer “horsehoe” shapes are just impressions).

MPDie3

Now this is where things can get tricky.  As I said… Marianne’s Dies have never been an issue for me.  So.. Often, you see those pink areas of papers still left on the die?  A lot of times they are still “floating” somewhat to your die cut piece.  But… even in THIS situation, sometimes fighting those pieces to get them either off your cut piece of off the die itself, can just be a pain.  If you’re like me… when it’s stuck to my cut piece, if it’s a tiny area… I find myself using my paper piercer to individually punch them out.  OR… using it to dig them off my die plate.  Well… no more….

MPDie4

SCOR TAPE to the rescue!!! Yep… that’s right.. Scor Tape!!! A tiny piece is all you need.  Simply tear a small piece off and then… apply it lightly to the pieces you want removed.

And there you have it.  The pieces come up and… you can remove them easily and go for more.  This works on the die itself… or on your cut piece.  Just try not to rub down to hard, especially when you’re removing a piece from your already cut design!  You know how well this sticks and you don’t want to tear or put a piece of Scor Tape where you don’t want it.  Ha!

When you’re done… simply throw the piece away and hurry on to finish your card with your mojo in tacet!!! Yayyy!!!  I hope this helped you lesson your frustrations and keep on crafting away!!!  As always, we appreciate your stopping by and remember to stop over at the store and check out all the fabulous dies available!!  Have a great Tuesday!!!! *HUGS*
