Embossed Card Box/Belly Band

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Anything But a Card

Happy Weekend!!  Michelle here with a fun little gift box that is always handy to have on hand.  This is a clear box that I ran through my Big Shot with an embossing folder!  How absolutely fun and easy is that?!  I simply slid a piece of pink cardstock into the box on top of the cards and there you have a simply packaged but oh so pretty little gift box!

I made a fun belly band to decorate my box using a Wild Rose Studio set:  CL294 Bunny With Cake.  I colored the image with Copic Markers:w7, w3, e59, e44, e43, e42, e41, b000, r89, r46, r85, r83, r81, 0 colorless blender.

To make a quick and easy belly band, I embellished a wide piece of brown ribbon with some of my favorite washi tape!  It adds a fun touch of detail, is fun, easy and quick!

Check out that cake!  I got the *cakey* appearance by coloring the cake with my darkest pink color and then applying some Copic Colorless Blender solution to an old terry cloth scrap and dabbing it onto the cake!  LOVE!!!!  How simple and easy and fun!

Other fun touches are the faux stitching in a white gel pen and distressing with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Make it a great day!

Stitched Hello Speech Bubble

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a card for you that uses some Lawn Fawn!  I used the Critters on the Savanna stamp set and matching dies along with the Quinn’s ABCs stamp set and matching dies.  I stamped everything in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics:
h- R29, R26, R24, R22
e- YR18, YR16, YR14, YR12
l- G28, G07, G03, G02
l- Y35, Y15, Y11
0- RV25, RV14, RV13, RV11
!- B25, B24, B23
rhino- C7, C6, C5, C3, C2

I wanted to make a clean and simple card because they are my favorite, but I wanted to add a little something extra.  I decided to stitch a speech bubble for the ‘hello!’ using the Purple Crush Baker’s Twine.  I drew the speech bubble out by hand first, pierced somewhat even holes and then backstitched with the twine.  I have done this with other shapes in the past and I love it!

To finish everything off I added some Glossy Accents to the rhino’s horn and some white gel pen stitch lines around the kraft layer.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂

A “Gorjuss” Chest of Drawers

Written by Marlena Hoffman Peduzzi. Posted in 3D

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are starting your Thursday off on a good note!   Today I have a  3D Thursday project to share with you and it is a chest of drawers.  I am always fascinated and in awe of so many of those chest of drawers projects you can find on others blogs.  How do they get them looking so nice?  How can I do that?  What if I changed the size?  Well, I thought I’d give it a second try, as I made a set once before, and this is what I came up with.  I still need some work on fitting the drawers in correctly so as not to buckle the base paper, but it was a good try all the same.  I put an image on the top of my set of drawers and it is a Gorjuss image, Daisy.

Gorjuss, Daisy side

Gorjuss, Daisy

My image is colored using my copic markers, of course!  I colored her using, skin – E11, YR01, E01, E000, E0000, hair – E49, E29, E39, E31, dress – C5, C3, C1, CB.  I also used Pebbles Candy Dot embellishments for the drawer handles and embellished the side using the Cheery Lynn die, Fanciful Flourish.

So glad to see you stop by today,
