Sorry I was crabby!
Hi, everyone! Kelli here today with a beachy card to share with you! This one is an apology card, but you could change out the sentiment to be anything you wanted or even leave it without one.
All the stamping was done using the Lawn Fawn – Life is Good stamp set. I first created the background by stamping the sand lines on X-Press It Blending Paper with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I masked off a circle for the sun and the sand and added some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink from Kit 8 using the Mini Ink Blending Tool. Then I masked off the sky and added color to the sun using Mustard Seed from Kit 1 and Scattered Straw from Kit 4. I didn’t have any lighter brown distress inks *note to self, get more inks!* so I added some Memento – Desert Sand ink.
I stamped everything else out onto the same paper with the same black ink and colored them with Copics:
Trees – G28, G07, G05, G03, E29, E25, E23
Hammock – Y35, Y15, Y11
Crab – R39, R37, R35, R32
Coconuts – E19, E08, E35
Just a little note about the palm trees… Before stamping, I curved the trunk a little one way and then a little the other way to help give the hammock a little bit more room in between.
I cut everything out by hand and ran my Memento – Tuxedo Black marker around the white core to give it a more finished look.
I stamped the birds directly onto the background and adhered everything else using the Crafter’s Companion – Adhesive Runner and dimensional foam adhesive.
I wanted to add a little something extra to the plain white card base so I stamped some waves using a stamp from the same set.
To finish everything off I added some sparkle to the coconuts and the crab using the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen in Clear.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂
