Holiday Card Featuring Mama Elephant and Pretty Pink Posh Sequins

Written by Heidi. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tips & Tricks

Hello everybody, Heidi here! Today I am sharing with you a card featuring the new “Twinkle towns” stamp set by Mama Elephant. I love making cards that have backgrounds with sequin work, so I’m always on the look out for stamps and die sets that let me do that, so as soon I saw this set I thought that I needed it, in order to make these sort of cards. Let me show you the card and I’ll briefly tell you how I make it. I didn’t do a step by step tutorial, however it is the same process of another card that I made back in July, so I will link it HERE and there is a photo tutorial on that post.

DSC_8173First I cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die, then I cut the two circles, after that I stamped the Christmas bauble or ornament. You will need a circle die that is a little bit smaller than the stamp. I adhered the sequins directly on to the card base and then I adhered the die cut panel with foam adhesive.

DSC_8172I used the Mama Elephant Creative Cuts “Twinkle towns” “Oh joy” die cut sentiment and the little bow from the Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Basic set, I cut them out of foil paper. The sequins that I used were Pretty Pink Posh Red Raspberry and Metallic Gold in cupped 6mm.

I hope you enjoyed this very simple card, you can try any combination of sequins, or try to make patterns. I promise you it’s very simple to glue the sequins using a quick stick or any other sticky tip tool, you can do that while you watch your favorite TV show or talk over the phone.

Thanks so much for stopping by I’ll see you soon with more inspiration and projects!

“Have a Mice Christmas” Featuring Mama Elephant

Written by Heidi. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hello everybody! Heidi here, welcome back to the Marker POP blog! Today I have some holiday inspiration featuring “Festive Mice” stamp and die set by Mama Elephant, I also used the “Snow capped mountains” Creative Cuts also by Mama Elephant! I’m absolutely in love with the latest Mama Elephant release, and you will see more Mama Elephant inspiration from me, in the days to come. Let me show you the card that I made, and I will be telling you more about it.

DSC_8135For the background I used a brick stencil from My Favorite Things and I randomly inked some spots using Fire Brick distress ink. I created the window using the My Favorite Things Blueprints No.20, and I used a snow stencil for the outside background with some embossing paste. For the sky background I used “Salty Ocean” and “Chipped Sapphire” distress inks. The cut the snow cape mountains from craft card stock and the snowy tips from white card stock.

DSC_8138I stamped and colored all the images using Copic Markers, some of them I die cut using the coordinated dies, and some others such as the lights I fussy cut. The two little presents are from the “Reindeer Games” stamp set also by Mama Elephant. I arranged and adhered all the elements using some foam adhesive and liquid glue, I used white gel pen to add some detail to the mouse’s pajamas and the tree, some Glossy Accents on the lights, and some Wink of Stella on the presents.

I hope you enjoyed this card and that you would check out the adorable new Mama Elephant release at the Marker POP store

Polaroid Halloween Card Featuring Mama Elephant

Written by Heidi. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hello everybody, Heidi here with more Halloween inspiration, today a card featuring the Mama Elephant “Bootastic” stamp set, which is one of my favorites for Halloween projects.

I wanted to created the impression that the girl in the princess costume is getting photo bombed by the boy in the Frankenstein costume, so I draw the little open mouse on the girl like she is surprised, I hope you’ll like the idea. Let me show you and tell you a little bit more about it!

DSC_8108to created the Polaroid I blended a deep purple background using “Dusty Concord” and Chipped Sapphire” distress ink, and stamp the sky line form the “Central Park” stamp set, (you could used the “Cityscape” Creative cut by Mama Elephant instead of the stamp, I added it to the list of supplies just in case).

DSC_8112I stamped, colored and die cut the images which I adhered to the blended background using liquid glue. Then I used the Mama Elephant creative cuts “Polaroid fun” to frame scene. I wanted the Polaroid to be the focal point of the card, so the background of the card is muted with some grey bats, on the white card-stock base.

DSC_8114Finally, I heated embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder, and adhered the Polaroid to the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card and that you visit us again for more inspiration.

Halloween Goodie Bags Featuring Lawn Fawn

Written by Heidi. Posted in 3D, Anything But a Card, Eye Candy (Projects), Saturday Spotlight, Uncategorized

Hello everybody, Heidi here, welcome back to the Marker POP blog! Today I am sharing with you some Halloween inspiration using some Lawn Fawn stamps and dies! These goodie bags are sure to delight kids or even grownups, fill them up with your favorite candy and hand out some Halloween joy!

I created individual scenes on each one of the goody bags, let me show you the goodie bags and I will tell you a little more about them.

DSC_8067For this goodie bags I used multiple Halloween and some non-Halloween Lawn Fawn products. I cut the goodie bags from cardstock and I used some of the little stars from the “spooktacular” stamp set to heat emboss a starry sky. Then I stamped and die cut some images from the “trick or treat,” “hoppy Halloween,” “Critters in costume” and “spooktacular,” and arranged the scenes on the front panel of the goodie bags.

DSC_8063I cut the clouds from cardstock, using the clouds from the “spring showers” stand along die by Lawn Fawn and I also created a hill from cardstock using “twisted citron” and “crushed olive” Distress inks. The “happy halloween” sentiment that I used is from “hats off you” stamp set and I heat embossed with white embossing powder and attache to the goodie bag using coordinated tiny clothe’s pins.

I hope you really enjoyed these goodie bags and that you got inspired to create fun gifts for your family and friends this Halloween using products from the Marker POP stores Have a great weekend!
