Magical Birthday: A Window Card

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you today and not only is it Wednesday, but it also happens to be my Birthday, so I thought I had to do a Birthday card duh!  So I pulled out my new My Favorite Things Once Upon A Time Stamp Set and got busy…

To create this card I started by tracing the largest die from the My Favorite Things STAX Stitched Arch. I then stamped my background scene, and colored it all in with Copic® Markers. (Castle: RV00, RV02, RV23, V000, V12; Grass: G40, G43; Flowers: G46, B00, Y15; Sky: BG0000, B000; Path: E11, E21, C1, C3).  Once it was all colored in I die cut it out.  I decided to color before diecutting because it is just easier.  Next I worked on my sweet little Birthday Princess by stamping, coloring and cutting her out. (Princess: Face: E00, E21, E50, R20; Hair: E15, E25, E37; Dress: R20, R22, BG10, BG11, BG13)  I then die cut the same large STAX die from the front of my card before adding my sentiment.  To keep the background lined up with the opening in the card I kept the card closed and adhered the background cut through the opening in the front.  I then adhered my Princess and added some fun Nuvo Glitter Drops along with Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins.

For You: A Mix of Old and New

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello MarkerPOP fans! It’s Lisa here with you today and I hope you were able to get your orders in for the new CHA products available in the store, so much goodness to choose from! Anywho, today I’m here sharing a card using new products from Penny Black and My Favorite Things, mixed with an older Concord & 9th Set…

To create this card I started by stamping the sweet little hedge hog, from the Penny Black Furry Hugs Stamp Set, onto a panel of Neenah Solar White Card stock. I decided to color him with my Copic® Markers (Hedge hog: E50, E00, C1, C3, R20, Cupcake: R20, R22, RV10, RV23, RV25, V12, V15, O) before masking him off to add my background colors with Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass). I then created my own sentiment with the Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script Stamp Set and Memento Dye Ink in Rose Bud. Next I die cut the bottom edge with the new My Favorite Things Stitch Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die Set. At this point I added a few droplets of water to the grass and sky for some interest and Nuvo Glitter Drops to the heart on the Cupcake in White Blizzard.

I finished the panel with a few Pretty Pink Posh Floral Sequins. When I came across an older piece of patterned paper that matched my colors I used it along the bottom part of my card base. And to bring it all together I tied the top off with a twine bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure you check out all of the new goodies in the shop!

Shine Bright!

Hello everyone.. I hope you are all having a great week so far! Have you played along with Challenge #112 yet? This week it’s all about the Moon and Stars. You can find all the details on the Challenge in this post here. The challenge is open until Friday January 27th at 11pm est.

I created a cute card today using the Challenge theme and the Lucky set from My Favorite Things.

I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and I die cut a panel with the MFT Blueprints #15 die-namics set. Then I die cut the center Star area using the MFT Starry Circle Die-namic. I die cut the stars a second time from a piece of the MFT Watercolor Wash 6×6 paper Pack. I added a piece of scarp paper to the back of the panel and then I adhered the blue star panel with some glue. I stamped the sentiment in some Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink using the Mini Misti and set it aside.

I stamped the images from the Lucky set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White using the same Jet Black ink and colored them in with Copics in the following colors:

Moon: Y0000, Y000 & Y00 Stars: B0000, B000 & B00 Clouds: C00, C1 & C3 Cheeks: R20 I also used some 0 on each image.

Once the images were cut out I die cut them with the coordinating dies and adhered them to card front with some glue and foam tape. I added some additional foam tape to the back of the panel and adhered that to a top folding A2 size card base. For a touch of Shimmer I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the Stars and the Moon image. I also added some of the Mixed Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Be sure to join us for our  Bi-Weekly Challenge.. There’s a Mystery Box full of Goodies for one lucky participant each week. We have some great new products coming into the sore with CHA around the corner check out the Coming Soon Section and Sign up for our Newsletter so you don’t miss any info.

Bookmarks Created With My Favorite Things Stamps

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa here today and I’m popping in today to share some super cute bookmarks I was able to whip up using BB Our Story Stamp set from My Favorite Things…

To create these bookmarks I started out diecutting the banners from Neenah Solar White Card stock with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Banner Duo Die Set.  I then lined my images and sentiments up using my MISTI tool and stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink.  I colored the images in next using Copic Markers as listed below.

Girl Bookmark: E25, E27, E59 – hair, E50, E00 – skin, G21, G46, YG63 – chair, RV91, RV95 – dress, RV23, RV25 – Book, C1, C3 – shoes

Boy Bookmark: E00, E21, E50 – skin, E25, E33, E27 – hair, R29, R89 – book, B95, B97 pants C1, C3, C5 – shoes, YG06, YG17, G14 – shirt

I didn’t want anything too complex in the background so I used my new Clarity Stencil Brushes, paper masks, and Distress Inks.  I love how smoothly the background went on, and how easy it was to clean the brushes with water!
