Monstrous Birthday!

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

‘Morning, Crafters! Valerie here today! Hey, wanted to let you know that my new, facelifted blog is up & running! I hope you’ll stop by & check it out!

OK, on to my project this week! Ever want to just stamp in pretty colors and not have to color? Well these sets today are FABULOUS for that. I combined 2 My Favorite Things stamp & die sets: the Monster Love die set & coordinating Die-namics set, and the Celebrate with Cake stamp set and coordinating Die-namics set (now, AFTER I completed making the card, I was mortified to find we don’t have 3 of those 4 products in our store anymore; but I will continue with this post because the other products I used ARE in the store, and I think this is still good inspiration for those other solid image sets we DO carry!).

The images are stamped using 5 Lawn Fawn Premium Dye Ink Pads: Lobster, Fish Tank, Sunflower, Manatee, and Black Licorice. I used my wonderful Mini Misti to stamp the images nice & straight, and exactly where I wanted them; there are many wonderful Misti products to choose from now – check them out!

The black frame is created using an Avery Elle die set. And the embossed border on the inside is from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Borders die set. Pretty Pink Posh is the name of the game for the sequins on this card; I’m featuring 3mm Sparkling Clear Cupped sequins, 11mm Silver Stars, and 4mm Silly Eyes.

Thank you for stopping by; I’m sorry some (only SOME!) of the products aren’t in the store, but I hope this was good inspiration for you anyway! Have a wonderful day!

Shine Bright!

Hello everyone.. I hope you are all having a great week so far! Have you played along with Challenge #112 yet? This week it’s all about the Moon and Stars. You can find all the details on the Challenge in this post here. The challenge is open until Friday January 27th at 11pm est.

I created a cute card today using the Challenge theme and the Lucky set from My Favorite Things.

I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and I die cut a panel with the MFT Blueprints #15 die-namics set. Then I die cut the center Star area using the MFT Starry Circle Die-namic. I die cut the stars a second time from a piece of the MFT Watercolor Wash 6×6 paper Pack. I added a piece of scarp paper to the back of the panel and then I adhered the blue star panel with some glue. I stamped the sentiment in some Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink using the Mini Misti and set it aside.

I stamped the images from the Lucky set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White using the same Jet Black ink and colored them in with Copics in the following colors:

Moon: Y0000, Y000 & Y00 Stars: B0000, B000 & B00 Clouds: C00, C1 & C3 Cheeks: R20 I also used some 0 on each image.

Once the images were cut out I die cut them with the coordinating dies and adhered them to card front with some glue and foam tape. I added some additional foam tape to the back of the panel and adhered that to a top folding A2 size card base. For a touch of Shimmer I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the Stars and the Moon image. I also added some of the Mixed Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Happy Monday everyone.. The Design team is taking a break to enjoy the Holidays with their families so this will be the last post you see for the rest of the year. We wanted to remind you that our Current Challenge will end this Friday December 30th @ 11pm EST. The theme this week is Winter and I’ve created a card that’s perfect for all those Winter Thank You cards or you can change up the sentiment for any occasion.

For more details on how I created these cards you can check out the video at the end of the post.

I started with the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland 6×6 pad and pulled the colors form the papers. I decided to use Neenah Solar White, Kraft, Soft Sky and Lawn Fawn’s Guava. I die cut the Mug images from the Hot Cocoa Cups die-namics from My Favorite Things. Once the images were all die cut I added some shading with Distress Inks and a Mini ink Blending tool . I used Weathered Wood, Worn Lipstick, Vintage Photo and on the Kraft Mugs I used Gathered Twigs. On the Whipped Cream and Marshmallows I added some Copic Markers in C00, C1 & 0 to create some dimension.

I wanted a little texture to the Whipped Cream and Marshmallows but I didn’t want any shimmer like Glitter. So I added some Clear Rock Candy Stickles and let the pieces dry. I die cut the patter papers with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die-namics from MFT and then I created the card on a top Folding A2 size base from some Neenah Solar White card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the MFT Hug in a Mug set onto some White card stock with Lawn Fawn’s Walnut ink and used one of the MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips to die cut the banner.

I added the banner to the center panel and then the cups. For an extra pop of color I used some of the Coordinating Enamel Dots from the Winter Wonderland collection as well. This card was so fun to make… I still have a few more to make and send out.

Have a great rest of the Holiday and We Wish you all the best in the New Year!

Beary Warm Wishes…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa Lahiff here with you today and I have this super cute bear card that is sure to melt a few hearts this Holiday season…

img_8364

To create this card I started by stamping the bear and presents from the My Favorite Things Birthday Bears Stamp Set onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock.  I then colored them in with various Copic® Markers (Bear: C1, W9, R20; Presents: B24, B28, B95, YG17, G14, R24, R29).  After I cut all of the images out I set them to the side and began working on the background.  I wanted to create a fun snowy scene so I grabbed the My Favorite Things Snowfall Horizontal die and cut it out of a blue textured cardstock.  To create a snowy hill for the bear to sit on I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders One.  The sentiment was added to the lower right corner of the hill coming from the new Altenew Holiday Wishes Stamp Set and Lawn Fawn Deep Sea Die Ink.  I layered everything together and adhered the bear and one present with foam adhesive.
