Tuesday Tips and Tricks: Flower fun!
Hello everyone! Samantha here bringing you this week’s Tuesday Tips and Tricks. This week, I want to show you another way you can alter your plain paper flowers.
This layout features some Fireworks Spray, Wild Rose Studio designer brads, and the SP and Company Kokimo background stamp.
The flowers on here are those same paper flowers that I had used on a layout I showed you last week called My Little Darling .
This time though, I inked and sprayed them.
The green flowers are sprayed with New Sprout Fireworks spray so they are packed full of shimmer! The other colored flowers were inked up using the Tim Holtz Ink Applicator tool and some dye ink from my ink stash.
Then after all the flowers had dried a little, I stamped some of them with the SP and Company Kokimo background stamp.
The finishing touch on my layout were the Wild Rose Studio designer brads. The set I used is called Polka Dots. I also used some coordinating plain blue brads that were from my collection.
I also used two of the designer brads to add an accent to my title banners.
Well folks, that’s all I have for you today! I hope you enjoyed it.
iCopic Weekly Challenge #41
Happy Monday! Samantha here to give you this week’s challenge.
The Challenge: Skin Tones
Use your Copics to color a skin tone out of your comfort zone (lighter or darker than you normally use).
Add a direct link to your challenge project below. Projects are due on August 7th at noon PST. A winner will be chosen at random to receive this week’s prize AND be showcased right here on the iCopic blog Sunday evening!
For Rachel’s inspiration project, she used a darker, sun-kissed tone on her image. She used The Greeting Farm‘s Surfer Anya image.

My Little Darling Layout
Hey everyone! Samantha here with another project for you. Since this week’s weekly challenge is particularly challenging, I thought I would give you another project idea. There is still time to enter for this week, so get that project ready and show us what you can think up!
In this layout, can you see my Copics?? Look really closely 🙂
Yep, you guessed it. . . those flowers were AIRBRUSHED! Let me say it again in case you don’t already know. . .
I LOVE THE COPIC AIRBRUSH SYSTEM! It is one of my most favorite things about Copics. If you don’t yet own one or haven’t tried you, you need to! They are so neat!
On this layout, my plain old white paper flowers were transformed with Copics. I used the following colors:
BGG72, BG75, and BG78. I just started with my lightest color and added the darker two colors in small amounts to give the flowers a slight variation in shading. I didn’t want them to look all flat and boring.
To create my banner, I used some of my favorite SP and Company stamps: Pretty Pendants stamp set, and Kokimo Background. I also used the lovely Bold Sentiments I stamp set to create the sentiment on the banner coming out of one flower. The little pup in the photo has definitely got my true love.
Well that is all I have for you all today. Make sure to play along this week and I will see y’all back here tomorrow for the winner announcement.
