Outlaw Luka

Written by Marie Gamber. Posted in Uncategorized

Hello everyone!   Marie here and I can hardly believe it is Tuesday already!
I created a card for you using a cute little stamp from La La Land Crafts called Outlaw Luka.

A little technique  (tip) I often use when coloring hair is to identify where my highlights are going to fall and to color them in with a very light color.
I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.   I used C3 to begin marking where I want my highlights to fall.

I then began laying down my Copic Sketch Alcohol Ink Markers  C9, C7 and C5 for my shadows, mid tones and highlights.
I started working in small areas in order to work while my ink is still wet for ease in blending.

I continued to blend the hair until I got the right amount of contrast between highlights and shadow.
I Used E11, E00 and E000 for Luka’s skin tones.

R 39, R29, R27, R24, R22 and R20 was used for the shirt.
I used B37,  B24, B21 and B00 for the Jeans. Tip to tip method was used to help the colors blend.

The tricycle was colored using G99, YG 63,  G46 and   G40

The tires  and wheels were colored with C1, C3, C5, C7 and C9.
Copics G99, YG91, YG 63, G28, BG000, B000, BG10 and Colorless blender were used
for the ground, grass, sky and clouds.
The shoes were colored with E44, E42 and E40.
Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink  (Ranger) was sponged on the corners and edges
in order to draw the eye toward the focal image.

The layers were applied and I used a punch called Doily by Tonic for the embellishment.

I hope you enjoyed this card.  I really enjoyed creating it for you!  Don’t forget to stop by our MarkerPop Blog and check out our new challenge.  We want to see you color something other than paper on your card or project!    Be safe and have fun!

Monday Inspiration: Anything but Paper

Written by Samantha Peyton. Posted in Monday Inspiration

Hi everyone! Samantha and the Design Team here today bringing you some Monday Inspiration. Today’s theme is “Color anything but paper”. Today we will share some ideas with you on how to color up some embellishments. Copics and other alcohol based markers, such as ShinHan Art markers, work great for coloring your own embellishments. Not only does MarkerPop carry a bunch of amazing alcohol markers, MarkerPop also now has a large section of embellishments & many of those embellishments work great for coloring with markers. You can see our great selection of markers here, & you can see our great selection of embellishments here!

Now let us show you some inspiration. First up, Marie had a brad from the My Mind’s Eye The Sweetest Thing Tangerine Sunshine collection. The brad was green and didn’t quite match her card so she colored it blue. Because Copics are semi-translucent, the green color of the brad still came through, creating an aqua brad just like she wanted. Now the brad matched the card! The main image Marie used is from Whiff of Joy.

Melissa had some crystals from the Shades of White Prima Say it in Crystals pack that she wanted to use on her project so she colored them with Copic RV32 and VOILA! Instant matching embellishment! The main image Melissa used is from CC Designs.

To go along with today’s theme, I dug up one of my older videos to show you just how easy it is to color your embellishments. In this video, I am using an older pack of clear rhinestones that I had in my stash, but MarkerPop has a few options for clear rhinestones if you are looking for some. Check out these, and these!

Well, that’s it for today. We hope that you will use your Copics on anything but paper today so you can create your own custom colored embellishments. Marie will be back tomorrow to share another one of her amazing projects with you. See you soon!

Christmas Shaker Gift Tag

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Anything But a Card

Hi, everyone!  It’s Kelli here with a Christmas shaker gift tag to share with you!  I used the adorable Wild Rose Studio – Snowman Hugs stamp and stamped it in Memento – Tuxedo Blank ink and colored it with Copics:

C9, C7, C5, C3
G28, G07, G05, G03, G02
YR18, YR16, YR15
E51, E50
B01, B0000
BV02, BV01, BV00
RV29, RV25, RV23

I used the Stampendous – Shaved Ice for the snow inside of the shaker and I think it’s absolutely perfect for this!  It’s light and fluffy and moves around easily.  I also like how a few pieces get stuck here and there like real snow would, especially on the snowman’s hat!

The red patterned paper is from the Bo Bunny – Mistletoe 6×6 paper pad.  I like that this paper pad has the traditional Christmas colors in it.  It’s great for the holiday season!  For the little green frame around the image I just colored some white card stock with my G07 marker and cut tiny strips and glued them around the edges.  Then I added some faux stitch lines with my white gel pen.

I stamped a banner image from SP & Company and then added the ‘Warm wishes!’ sentiment from the Some Odd Girl – Warm Wishes Tia set inside.  Then I colored it with the green Copics and cut it out.  I ran my Memento – Tuxedo Black marker around the edges to cover up the white core of the paper.  To finish it off I added some My Minds Eye – Winter Wonderland Enamel Dots on either end!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂
