Happy Easter

Written by Marlena Hoffman Peduzzi. Posted in Get to Know the DT

Hello everyone, Happy Easter (a little early) to all of you!  Easter is so early this year but it actually brings back memories for me.  I know for a fact that Easter was on March 31 sixteen years ago.  How do I know this, my daughter was only a week and a half old and I remember vividly celebrating her first Easter and her first Easter dress.  She is a strawberry blonde with china doll pale skin and at the time she looked exactly like a doll in her adorable Easter dress.  Did I mention she has blue eyes as well?  Not your typical blue eyes but the most gorgeous crystal blue eyes you have ever seen.  Do I sound bias, maybe a little.  I’m a little nostalgic at the moment as well since her 16th birthday was only a week and a half ago, just like the last time Easter was on March 31.

I do have a card to share with you as well.  I’ve been working on Easter and spring cards and today card was made using the LaLa Land image, Marci with Flower Pot.

LaLaLand, marci with flower pot

The copics I used to color this adorable image are pants: E47, E44, E42, E40, shirt: Y38, Y35, Y32, YR39, pot: YR18, YR16, YR12, YR01, skin:, E13, E11, YR01, E01, E000 and hair: E29, E39, E34, E30

I hope you all have a Happy And Blessed Easter!

Think Spring

Written by Marlena Hoffman Peduzzi. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Positive thoughts may get us some warm weather and sun.  Welcome reminders that spring has officially arrived today and winter is welcome to leave until next year.  Yesterday we had enough snow to delay school for two hours and then cancel after school activities, and that is just enough of that.  To give Mother Nature the hint that we are all to ready for spring I have made a nice spring themed card for you using the Magnolia image, Tilda With Big Tulip Pot.  Tulips are such a beautiful reminder of spring that I thought this card would be fitting to help usher in the first day of our new season.

Magnolia, Tilda with big tulip pot

Other materials I Used to make this card are copic markers, of course!  The colors I used are skin – E11, YR01, E01, E000, E0000, hair – E59, E29, E39, E31, clothes – BG07, BG05, BG01, BG000, Y17, Y15, Y11, Y000 and the tulip and it’s pot – YR18, YR14, YR01, YR000, YR04, YR01, YR000, YR0000.  I also used the LaLa Land die Heart Fence.

Addicted To Pinterest

Written by Marlena Hoffman Peduzzi. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi all, Marlena here today to share with you a Pinterest inspired project.  And yes, I am completely addicted to Pinterest.  All I can say is how can you not be with all the amazing ideas, projects and inspiration you can find on that site.  From the moment I joined I was hooked and the pins have been piling up since then.  Today’s project is one I created after I saw, or should I say pinned, something very similar.  I took the picture, created my own dimensions and added the elements I thought would work well for this project.  I enjoyed putting it together and was happily surprised with the end result.

SK, best friends forever

The image is a Sarah Kay image, Best Friends Forever and was colored with my copic markers.  The colors I used are G28, G46, G43 and G40 for her dress and hat.  E 35, E31, E30, E50 for her apron and G99, G94, G82 and G 40 for the doll’s dress.

When you open up the front flaps this is what you will see on the inside.

SK, best friends forever inside

I cut the notepaper down to the size I wanted and basically created my own notepad for this project.  The two pads in the middle are post it note pads that I covered and embellished.  If you are interested in trying one of these on your own here’s the dimensions I used to put it all together.
