Christmas… A Tad Early

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

hehehe!  I can’t help it!  I know I’m super early with a  Christmas card, but when all of these amazing stamp companies start releasing all of the new Christmas goodness I just have to play!!!  It’s Lisa here, btw, and today I’m having fun with the new Avery Elle Stamp Set called Winter Woodland Wonders.

See the cuteness?!  How could I resist? To create this card I started by stamping the birch trees on my panel as a background.  I then added the sentiment and ornament.  On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the ornament a second time along with 5 holly and that adorable bear.  I knew that I wanted my bear to be in the foreground of my card so I die cut the hill and added Nuvo Glimmer paste in Moonstone with my finger and set it off to dry.  I went back to my stamped images and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers.

Once everything was colored I cut out the bear, the bottom part of the ornament and the holly to adhere to my card.  The snowy hill was added to the bottom front with foam adhesive tape.  I then went back and added some light blue snowflakes to the background.  After the stamped panel was complete I layered it onto some striped patterned paper from Lawn Fawn.

A little Spooky…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It’s Lisa here today and I have a fun Halloween card to share with all of you today using the new Avery Elle Bad Kitty Set.  Since this set is smaller, it’s also lighter on the wallet which is always a good thing!  But don’t underestimate it’s size, this set can still pack a big and spooky punch…

To create this card I started by stamping my pumpkin and cat onto separate cardstock.  I then used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in TN5, TN8, OR1, OR2, CT2, IG5, IG6, IG8, DR1, DR2, LG2 to color them in before cutting them out.  When I am handing cutting an image I like to go over the edges with my Memento Marker in Tuxedo Black.  This may seem a little redundant, but trust me it can make a big difference.  After these guys were are set for my card I started working on my cardbase.  First, I stamped the bats to look like they would be flying out of the pumpkin.  Next, came my spider web, spider and sentiment in the opposite corner.  To achieve a night sky I used a mix of Distress Oxide and Distress Inks.  My spider web seemed to fade more into the background than I wanted it to so I traced over the image and drew a line to my spider with a white gel pen.  I like the shadow effect it gave too.

A few mist splatters later and my cardbase was ready for my witch kitty and pumpkin.  I layered the pumpkin with foam adhesive for dimension to my scene. Everything looked cute, but I still felt like it was lacking one more thing… bling!  So I added one red rhinestone to the cats collar and called it a day.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Don’t forget to join in our biweekly challenge, as this time MarkerPOP is giving away a nice Nuvo Goodie Pack!

Happy Father’s Day with Avery Elle

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi Crafters! I can’t believe mom’s and dad’s days are right around the corner! I have a pretty Father’s Day card today featuring Avery Elle‘s new Shine Bright stamp & die set, and their new Scalloped Pierced Rectangles STAX die set.

The images are stamped using Memento’s Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press IT Blending Card Paper, and colored with Copic markers (I use Sketch markers).

The red & white diagonally striped paper is from Doodlebug’s 6×6 Anchors Away paper pad.

The background is created using Distress Inks applied with onto Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock with Mini Ink Blending Tools.

For the beam of light, I  first stamped it with Altenew’s Warm Sunshine Ink from their Summer Afternoon ink pad set, available in full size ink pads or mini’s. Then I stamped it again with VersaMark Ink, and heat embossed it using Wow! Clear Gloss Embossing Powder

The sentiment was stamped using VersaMark, and heat embossed with Wow! White Pearl Embossing Powder. I added Zig Clear Wink of Stella to the flying birds and the red parts of the lighthouse. The final touch were the Pretty Pink Posh Sequins in Cobalt 4mm & 6mm.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope this has given you some inspiration!

You Have Fabulous Style…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hi!  It is Lisa here with you today and I have a sweet little camping scene to share with you today that I have created with the Avery Elle Glamper Campers Stamp Set, Zig® Clean Color Real Brush Markers, Gansai Tambi Watercolors, and My Favorite Things Blueprints 31.  Take a peek…

Clean Color Real Brush Markers Used: Light Green, Yellow Green, Mustard, Yellow, Pink Fl. Pink, Light Carmine, Wine Red, Light Violet, Lilac, Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, and Black.

For all of the stamped images I used the Clean Colors, because of their vibrant and fun colors.  Plus I love that you can use them with or without water.  For the banner I simple colored and for most everything else I used them as a watercolor.  Now for the background I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set because I had a large area to cover, and I am just not very good using the markers on larger areas.  I also like being able to add layers of colors when creating backgrounds and the Gansai Tambi are just easier for me to do this.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are getting a chance to join us in our watercoloring challenges this month!  They are located on the right side of the blog!
