Lawn Fawn Bookmarks: Front and Back

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you today and I could no longer resist the cuteness of the Lawn Fawn For You Deer Set, so I’m bringing these cuties your way…

Aren’t they just so cute?!  While there is a matching Add On Die, I didn’t use that and instead used a MFT Tag Die that I already owned as the base for my bookmark.  I then added a window with a circle die for my critters to peek through.  The new Sugar Pea Designs Spots and Stripes Brights paper pad was the perfect designer paper to add a pop of color to my bookmarks.

As for my critters I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Markers.  I used the matching Lawn Fawn For You Deer Die Set to cute them  out and set them up in the window.  The sentiments were the last things stamped and cut to put on the front of the bookmarks.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Don’t forget about the amazing giveaway going on, the video challenge, and our bi-weekly challenge!  Whew!

Fireworks and Mini Dogs? Yes!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It’s Lisa here with you today, and I have a super cute and sparkly card to share!  The adorable little dogs from the Mama Elephant Little Dog Agenda stamp set is perfect for everything!  I mean, those little guys can make anything look cute!  While this set is currently on backorder, you can get on the list for when it comes back in stock or pick up the similar Little Cat Agenda stamp set.

But, back to my card… so these little guys are ready for fireworks!  With the Lawn Fawn Stitched Fireworks Die it was easy to light up my sky…

To create this card I started by die cutting my sky and adding some shine with Ranger Stickles in Red, and Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard.  While this was drying I stamped, colored and cut my cute little dogs out.  I then added a hill for them to see the fireworks from by die cutting dark green cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders.  I put it all together and woo hoo!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this little scene!  And don’t forget to enter your projects into our newest challenge

Inlaid Die Cutting: A Treat For Your Eyes!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I have a fun card that not only looks beautiful, but can really play tricks on your eyes, check it out…

With the use of a technique called Inlaid Die Cutting I was able to add my sentiment in the middle of my image, while keeping the entire image intact!  It’s so cool, and I love the results every time I do it.  The trick to this technique is making sure you keep all of the little pieces that go back into the die cut.  I keep a piece of washi tape close by to attach those smaller cuts to, so that I can continue to work on the rest of my card without accidentally knocking one off.

Now the specific stamp set I used is by Winnie and Walter and is called Mini Scenery: Bed of Roses, and is currently out of stock, sorry!  But you are still able to put your name on the back order list if you wish, or there are other ways to achieve this same look.  Simply mask off a rectangle area, or any shape you wish, stamp the area with a background stamp and voila.  I then colored the image in with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers (Lilac HB1, Hydrangea HB2, Fruit Pink PP5, Denim TB3).  I love the dreamy color blend I was able to create with these markers.  Finally, I diecut the thanks by Lawn Fawn and adhered the word with foam adhesive over the negative cut.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you’ll give this technique a try!

Happy Crafting!
