Furr-Ever Friends

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Happy Friday everyone, it’s Holly here today… Have you checked out the July Release from Newton’s Nook Designs? They are celebrating their Four year Anniversary this month with 6 new Stamp sets, a border die set and 4 Stencils. Today I’m using one of the new stencils from the July Release and the Furr-Ever Friends Set from the June Release.

I started with a piece of Bristol cardstock, using the Paw Print stencil form Newton’s Nook. I smooshed some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide onto the back of the stencil. Then I spritzed it with some water and flipped it over and laid it down on the Bristol. I let it sit for a few minutes then I used a paper towel to dab up any excess that may of come through the openings. I heat set the panel with a heat tool. The I die cut the panel using the MFT Blue Prints 15 Die-namics. You can see how I created the background and more ways to use these stencils in the video below.

I stamped the halo image from the Forever Friends set onto the panel with some Gold embossing powder , then I adhered the panel to a White top folding card base. I die cut the stitched cloud from the MFT End of the Rainbow die-namic and stamped the sentiment in the center. I adhered the Cloud with some foam tape leaving enough area to add the cat silhouette. I stamped the cat silhouette in Black ink and I heat embossed the Wings onto some Vellum in Gold. I cut the images out and adhered them to the cloud. For an extra touch of sparkle I added some Mixed Sequins from Neat & Tangled.

Die Cutting a Background

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello, hello!  And happy middle of the week!!!  It’s Lisa here with you today and I have a card I’ve created with one of the newer My Favorite Things Die Sets called STAX Color Drop.  I loved this set the minute I saw it, and it was just as fun to play with as I imagined it would be.  Take a peek…

To create this fun background that you see here I started by diecutting the two different sized drops from several Lawn Fawn cardstock colors.  Next, I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in Surf Blue, Blue Turquoise, and Satsuma to add some coloring and dots to the larger drops.  I used my Xyron Sticker Maker to make the backside of each drop sticky and randomly adhered them to my card front.  Finally, I added a sentiment from the MFT Whimsical Wishes Stamp Set.

I hope this gives you one more idea with how you can create your own backgrounds with a single die set.  We hope to see your projects in our latest challenge too!  Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Today I’m featuring a bunch of new products in the MarkerPop store! First, my set of Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, and then My Favorite Things‘ (MFT) new (and a tad older!) stamp & die sets.

I created a fun interactive card that combines these MFT products:

All the images are colored with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and my Water Brush onto Distress Watercolor cardstock.

I integrated a couple trusty Lawn Fawn dies into this project, Grassy Border and STAX Large Stitched Rectangle. The patterned papers are MFT’s: Dots & Stripes Neutral and Subtle Plaids. These Pretty Pink Posh (PPP) cupped sequins were such a cute addition to this sweet card:

And the cute googly eyes on the frog are PPP Silly Eyes 4mm.

Today I’m featuring the look of coloring white heat embossed images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! And the stamp set I choose to do this with is the MFT Hog Heaven set (so adorable!).

I stamped the images onto Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock with VersaMark, then heat embossed them with Wow! Opaque White embossing powder using my Ranger Heat It Craft Tool. Then I used the Zig Clean Color Set of 24 to color the images.

The clouds are die cut from Bazzill White Cardstock Paper using 2 dies from the MFT Puffy Clouds die set. I painted the clouds with Zig Clear Wink of Stella. The scalloped frame is from MFT’s Stitched Square Scalloped Edge Frames set. The stitched square for the card base is from Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Square Cut Set. The background hill is the middle die from Lawn Fawn’s Simple Stitched Hillside Borders Cut Set.

Hope this made you smile! Have a wonderful day, and Happy Crafting!
