Toad-ally Awesome

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Today I’m featuring a bunch of new products in the MarkerPop store! First, my set of Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, and then My Favorite Things‘ (MFT) new (and a tad older!) stamp & die sets.

I created a fun interactive card that combines these MFT products:

All the images are colored with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and my Water Brush onto Distress Watercolor cardstock.

I integrated a couple trusty Lawn Fawn dies into this project, Grassy Border and STAX Large Stitched Rectangle. The patterned papers are MFT’s: Dots & Stripes Neutral and Subtle Plaids. These Pretty Pink Posh (PPP) cupped sequins were such a cute addition to this sweet card:

And the cute googly eyes on the frog are PPP Silly Eyes 4mm.

Today I’m featuring the look of coloring white heat embossed images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! And the stamp set I choose to do this with is the MFT Hog Heaven set (so adorable!).

I stamped the images onto Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock with VersaMark, then heat embossed them with Wow! Opaque White embossing powder using my Ranger Heat It Craft Tool. Then I used the Zig Clean Color Set of 24 to color the images.

The clouds are die cut from Bazzill White Cardstock Paper using 2 dies from the MFT Puffy Clouds die set. I painted the clouds with Zig Clear Wink of Stella. The scalloped frame is from MFT’s Stitched Square Scalloped Edge Frames set. The stitched square for the card base is from Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Square Cut Set. The background hill is the middle die from Lawn Fawn’s Simple Stitched Hillside Borders Cut Set.

Hope this made you smile! Have a wonderful day, and Happy Crafting!

Happy Birthday Pop-Up Box

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Anything But a Card, Eye Candy (Projects)

(at the end of my post I share how I store & transport my Copic markers!)

Eek! I think I’m in love! Today I broke out my new Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Cut Set and created an oober-fun birthday pop-up box! If you haven’t seen this die and how it works, here is Lawn Fawn’s video:

Isn’t that fun?! OK, so for MY box, I pulled out a ton of Lawn Fawn (LF) stamp & coordinating cut sets, and some other LF stamp OR cut sets on their own:

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press IT paper, and colored them with my Copic markers

I used papers from 2 new Lawn Fawn 6×6 paper pads to decorate the box: Perfectly Plaid and Watercolor Wishes.

This project was so incredibly fun to make, and I can only imagine all the possible scenes I’ll be able to create using this fun die set!

OK, now I’d like to throw in how I store my Copic markers, and how I transport them.

I have a wonderful collection of Copic Sketch markers; it has taken me almost 3 years to get to this point! When I’m coloring, I want them organized, and easily accessible. After much trial & error while experimenting with different storage solutions, I was finally thrilled when I discovered the Crafter’s Companion Untimate Pens and Markers Storage Units. You can get them in Clear (with a light tint of blue), or Black; I have the Clear ones. Here is an image of my markers and where I keep them on my work table:

(in this pic you can see the neighbor’s house still under construction and the mud pit it’s sitting on!):

Then there are the times when I need to take my markers with me; when that’s the case, I pull out my Copic Empty Clear Storage Cases. They come in different sizes for different Copic markers (Original, Sketch, or Ciao). I have 4 of the cases that hold 72 markers each, and that’s enough to transport my markers.

So that’s it! Make sure you head over to our Copic 30th Birthday Giveaway post because you still have time to enter !

Happy Birthday – Open Me!

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

What fun interactive cards are! Valerie here, and I have that on my card today, featuring Lawn Fawn’s 3 Sprinkled with Joy products (1 stamp set, and 2 different die sets)! I created a birthday card, and pulled in Lawn Fawn’s Baked with Love stamp set & coordinating die set to do that.

The images are stamped with Lawn Fawn’s Black Licorice ink onto X-Press It paper, and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment inside the oven from Lawn Fawn’s Year Two stamp set and their Yeti ink. The background papers (yes, Lawn Fawn’s!) (links here & here) are die cut with dies from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Square Stackables dies – Large and Small.

I went a little crazy with the sequins, but I couldn’t help it! I LOVE my Pretty Pink Posh sequins, and this was the perfect card to add a ton of them! You can see which ones I used in the Supply List below.

Thank you for stopping by; have a wonderful day, and happy crafting!
