Color Spray Comparisons
Hi, everyone! I have gotten a few different brands of misting sprays over time and I thought that I would do a comparison of four different brands for you. I don’t have the same color in them all, but I think this will help give you an idea about each one.
The four that I am showing today are:
Art Anthology Colorations Spray – Focus
Studio Calico Mister Huey’s Misting Spray – Heirloom Blue
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Key Lime Pie
Heidi Swapp Color Shine Iridescent Spritz – Mint Green
I sprayed each color on a 2.5″ x 2.5″ square of white, kraft and black card stock.
Here’s a couple pictures of all four together:
First up is the Art Anthology Colorations Spray in the color Focus. This spray has no shine or iridescence to it. The mist wasn’t as fine as a couple of the others so you can see the bigger droplets. This isn’t always a bad thing because sometimes that is the look you’re going for. I noticed this one wasn’t as pigmented as a couple of the others, this is actually two sprays on each of the card stock squares. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the color I chose though. Since there’s no iridescence in the spray it didn’t show up on the black which is to be expected. I actually got this color by accident. I meant to choose a light blue, but I am actually really pleased with how it looks on the kraft card stock. One last little note about this spray, the bottle is actually metal unlike the rest which are plastic.

Next up we have the Studio Calico Mister Huey’s Misting Spray in the color Heirloom Blue. This is another non-iridescent spray. It is just a very pigmented ink. I was actually pretty impressed with the amount of color you get with just one spray which I think would be perfect for masking since you get great coverage. The mist was pretty even and fine with the exception of a few droplets which I’m sure is normal with most sprays. Since this one doesn’t have shimmer it also did not show up on the black. A note about the color of this one, it’s very pretty! I love how deep and saturated it is.

Now we are going to move onto the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in the color Key Lime Pie. As the name suggests, this is a shimmery spray. I think it might have something to do with the color I chose, but the mist was very light. So, each of the squares has two sprays of color. Looking back, especially at the kraft piece, it got too wet so I would probably stick with one sprtiz. This spray gives you a nice fine mist which you can see really well on the black. I love how when you turn the black card stock you get tons of shimmer.

Last, but not least, the Heidi Swapp Color Shine Iridescent Spritz in the color Mint Green. This is another shimmery spray. I like this spray because one spritz covers a large portion and it is probably the most even mist of all the sprays. You can see that there are very few larger drops and it pretty much covered the whole square. Like the Glimmer Mist, I really like how this one looks on the black as well.

Overall, I can’t say that I prefer one over the other because it’s hard to choose between shimmery and not and heavy vs fine mists. I think I’ll end up grabbing for different ones depending on the project.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂
