Glimmer Paste on Dark Cardstock

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I am sharing what I think is a scrumptious and pretty card!  I was so excited with the way the glimmer paste by Nuvo shows on dark cardstock, that I seriously want to cover everything with this stuff! Take a peek at how I mixed this paste with lots of Altenew goodies…

To create this card I started by going over the Altenew Stencil: Sketched Lines on black cardstock with the Glimmer Paste.  I then set this off to the side and stamped and embossed my sentiment from the Altenew Beautiful Quotes Stamp Set in gold.  Next, I stamped flowers onto watercolor cardstock from the Wild Hibiscus Stamp Set.  To watercolor the flowers I used a mix of Distress Markers and Distress Oxide Ink.  I decided to fussy cut them out and added some Nuvo Drops to the centers.

Finally, I layered all of these up onto my cardbase.  Isn’t it just so pretty?!  Sometimes you just can’t help but feel excited when an idea turns out just as you were hoping.  I hope to see you share some of your new creations with us in our latest challenge featuring Christmas in July!

Watercolor Holiday Cards X 3

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It is Lisa Lahiff here with you today and I can’t wait to share my new set of cards with you today.  I went completely clean and simple with these babies, but I LOVE it!  Check them out…

To create these cards I started by stamping my images and sentiments in various places on each of the three Tim Holtz Watercolor Panels in Versafine Ink with the new Hero Arts Origami Happy Holidays Stamp Set.  I then used my Tim Holtz Distress Markers to watercolor my images.  Once the images dried I watercolored around each of them with different colors and added a few splashes of water for added texture and dimension.  I then finished them off by adding Nuveo Drops in Autumn Red.  Once each panel was dry I adhered them to black cardstock before adding them to my card bases.

Joy : A Watercolor Holiday Card

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Tutorials

Hello it is Lisa here, and I can not tell you how excited I am to be here today sharing my first post as part of the Marker Pop Design Team! eeeeekkk!!!  As I’m sure you’ve seen there are lots of new Holiday images making their debuts.  I’ve chosen a classic and elegant wreath image by Penny Black called Poinsettia Wreath for today’s card.  This stamp set is so beautifully detailed that you can’t help but have fun when coloring, or in this case, watercoloring it in.

To create this card I started by stamping the wreath in the center of a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Versafine ink.  Once the ink had dried I used various Distress Markers (Pine Needles, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Festive Berries, Barn Door, Fired Brick, Tattered Rose, and Mustard Seed) and Ranger Artist Brushes (Round 2 and 6).  When the entire panel was dry I used the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Cut STAX Small Stitched Rectangles to trim the panel down and add stitched lines.  I then popped the panel up with foam adhesive onto Lawn Fawn Cardstock in Red, and finished it all off with some Pretty Pink Posh Mixed Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Happy Holidays!

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi everyone it’s Holly here and welcome back to the markerPop blog. I’m up today and I have a cute card using the Santa’s Elves set from My Favorite Things. This set is so adorable and it’s perfect for Holiday Cards!

I stamped the smaller images from the set randomly onto a piece of Distress Watercolor card stock with Distress Embossing ink and heat embossed them in White. Then I used some Salty Ocean Distress ink to add color over the embossed images.

The images are stamped on some White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in with Copics. After I fussy cut the images out I added some Gold & Clear Wink of Stella to areas of both images.

The watercolored panel is die cut with a large Rectangle Stitched die and mounted onto a White card base. Then I die cut the Peek A Boo Wonky Windows Die from MFT from some White card stock and adhered it with some dimensional adhesive. I then added the images over the Wonky Stitched window.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto a scrap of the White card stock in Black Ink and added it behind the Elf. For a bit of Sparkle I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh using the Mix collection and some Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive.
