Beary Warm Wishes…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa Lahiff here with you today and I have this super cute bear card that is sure to melt a few hearts this Holiday season…

To create this card I started by stamping the bear and presents from the My Favorite Things Birthday Bears Stamp Set onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock.  I then colored them in with various Copic® Markers (Bear: C1, W9, R20; Presents: B24, B28, B95, YG17, G14, R24, R29).  After I cut all of the images out I set them to the side and began working on the background.  I wanted to create a fun snowy scene so I grabbed the My Favorite Things Snowfall Horizontal die and cut it out of a blue textured cardstock.  To create a snowy hill for the bear to sit on I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders One.  The sentiment was added to the lower right corner of the hill coming from the new Altenew Holiday Wishes Stamp Set and Lawn Fawn Deep Sea Die Ink.  I layered everything together and adhered the bear and one present with foam adhesive.

Peace, Love, and Joy

Written by Jessica Frost. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Good morning!  Jess here with a Christmas card featuring new stamps and dies from Mama Elephant and my all-time favorite Mama Elephant set, Arctic Penguins!

Aren’t those penguins adorable!  I thought they’d be perfect to decorate my Christmas tree!  I started by stamping the tree from O’ Tiny Tree with copic friendly ink and then I colored the trunk with copic markers.  I stamped the greenery with Altenew inks before adding the string of lights.  I colored the lights with copic markers, added a glow around each bulb with a very light shade of copic marker, and then covered each light with glossy accents.

Once that dried I stamped the sentiment from Merry Woofmas with Altenew ink and then started working on my penguins from Arctic Penguins.  I masked off their ice skates before stamping them on my card panel.  I colored their beaks and feet and then added the star to my tallest penguin.  I colored the star with copic markers and added spectrum noir sparkle and glossy accents over the star.  To ground my scene I die-cut the Union Square Frame Cuts with red cardstock and adhered it over my card panel.

I love combining old and new stamp sets to create new scenes and Mama Elephant’s older sets coordinate PERFECTLY with their new sets!  Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving with Cute Critters!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Tutorials

Hello wonderful crafty friends!  It is Lisa here with you today, and while I know so many of us are getting ready for Halloween, the very next Holiday (Thanksgiving) will be upon us in America in not time at all.  So I’m just getting a little jump on things and sharing this super cute Thanksgiving card with all of you today…

To create this card I started by stamping the pumpkins and little pilgrim beavers from the Giving Thanks set by Pretty Pink Posh onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored them in with Copic Markers (E11, E15, E37, YR04, YR15, YR18, B95, B97, Y15, Y17, RV10, RV63, RV91, RV95). I then cut all of them out and set to the side.  I then stamped the leaf and acorn images all over the front of my cardbase, colored these in with Copic Markers (YG03, YR15, R46, E15, E27).  This time I did not add any shading as this was just for the background and I wanted the main focus to be on the characters.  I then went over the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I wanted to add a green little hill for my critters to stand on and to double as a place for my sentiment so I die cut a hill from the Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka in the Meadow Paper Pack and with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders Die Set.  I then stamped my sentiment with Versafine ink and added the critters with foam adhesive for more dimension.

Holiday Kitty

Written by Jessica Frost. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Good morning!  Jess here!  Today I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring an oldie but goodie set from Newton’s Nook, Holiday Mischief!

Isn’t that naughty cat cute?!  I colored him with copics and then fussy cut him.  I added a little halo around each light using a lighter colored copic marker and then went over each light with clear spectrum noir sparkle and glossy accents.

Then I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Merry Messages onto a piece of white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I adhered my kitty with foam mounting tape but my card seemed to be missing something.  So I took some patterned paper from Lawn Fawn, trimmed them down to thin strips and adhered them around my sentiment.  I think it helped bring a little color to my card and ground my kitty a little better.  Plus those patterned papers are just adorable!  What do you think?

Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!
