Hi, everyone!  Kelli here today to bring you this week’s challenge!

The Challenge: RV Family
Use your RV Copics on your project!

To join this week’s challenge just add a direct link to your challenge project below. Projects are due on Sunday, April 29th at noon PST. A winner will be chosen at random to receive this week’s prize. The winner and top 3 picks will be showcased right here on the iCopic blog Sunday evening!  We will also announce our weekly commenting winner too (chosen at random from all the comments left on the blog this week, so be sure to leave us some love)! REMEMBER – ONLY iCOPIC CUSTOMERS SHOULD PARTICIPATE!

This week’s prize is a special $15 gift voucher!

I used Mermaid Anya by The Greeting Farm and stamped her in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink.  I have used her before for crazy hair colors but I feel she’s perfect for almost any fun color!  I colored her with Copics:
hair and top: RV29, RV25, RV23
hair: E31, Y35, Y21, Y13, Y11
skin: E13, E21, E51
tail: YG25, YG23, YG21
I spritzed the background with the Rose Bud Fireworks spray.  This stuff is so fun and shimmery, I love it!

All of the patterned paper, besides the pink, is from the Echo ParkHello Summer 6×6 Paper Pad.

For her tail I decided to try something different.  I cut out a piece of lace in the shape of her tail and then adhered it by using Glossy Accents.  I think this is really fun because it gives the look of scales and also some added texture.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂

Here is my inspiration project & a little tutorial to get your creativity flowing.

I love this time of year and just can’t get enough of it!  I feel like doing the “Happy Dance”!    That brings me to the project I created for you  with the adorable image, Milton with Poppy from Wild Rose Studio.

Many of us spend hours creating diminutional cards and shudder to think of them being crushed in an envelope.   I always Fed Ex the cards I mail in the little FedEx boxes.  But what do you do for those cards you hand-give to those special people?   I have created a little 3-D Envelope that will be a beautiful way to present the card that you spent hours creating.
I identified where I wanted my light source to come from.  I then started with Y26 in my shadow area.
I blended from dark to light  adding Y21, Y13, Y11 and Y000. I used a tip to tip
blending method between Y11 and Y000.
I worked on a each individual petal at a time in order to blend while my ink was still wet.
I used C7, C5 and C3 for the center of my poppy.
My grass and foliage was colored with G40, YG63 and YG67.
I colored little Milton with E30, E31, E34, E35, E37.   I used a stippling method.  I then used my Copic Colorless Blender to add more texture.   I doodled on his nose with Copic Multiliner Sepia 0.3 mm and on his ear with Copic Multiliner Pink 0.3 mm.
Close up of my punched flowers.  I used a snowflake punch for my foliage.
This is the assembled card
I did not want my flowers to get crushed by a 2A envelope so
I created a 3-D envelope to hold the card.
I  started with trimming  a piece of firm card stock to measure  8 in X 11 in.
With the card stock in vertical position, I scored at 0.5 in, 1 in, 7 in and 7.5 in.
With the card stock positioned in landscape orientation, score at 2.5 in, 3 in,  7.5 in and 8 in.
I trimmed the areas in red.
I cut coordinating card stock and  designer paper to coordinate with my card.
Cardstock:
5.5 in x 2 in.
 5.5 in x 4 in.
 5.5in x 2.5 in
Designer Paper
5.25 in x 1.37 in
5.25 in x 3.75 in.
5.25 in x 2.25 in
I rounded the corners of the top flap and top of the side flap.
Finished 3-D Envelope.
I adhered the sides of the envelope together with Red Double Sided Sticky Tape.  Anything that is extra strong can be used.  I adhered a jumbo sized brad to the bottom flap at 3 inches (midway)
The perfect size for your 3-D cards!
Finished Spring Project
Thank you for stopping by and please roll up your sleeves, get those crafting tools and and join us for some Spring fun!
