Squad Goals!
Good morning! Jess here! While I anxiously await the new Mama Elephant release I thought I’d play with some of my older sets! 🙂
Specifically, I’ve had an idea in my head for a Game of Thrones themed card! I finished binge-watching the most recent season a few days ago and I’ve been thinking about dragons! So this is what I created!
If you’re not familiar with the series one of the main characters has three dragons…there’s a lot of complicated backstory involving the dragons but all you really need to know for my card is that one is white with gold markings, one is black with red markings, and the other is green with bronze markings.
I started by stamping the middle dragon from Lunar Animals onto a piece of watercolor cardstock with versafine before heat-embossing it with clear embossing powder. Then I masked him off with a post-it note and stamped the other two dragons behind him. I also heat-embossed them with clear powder. Then I painted them with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and the Starry Colors metallic palette. I also freehand painted the sky and grassy ground around them. I let them dry fully and then stamped the sentiment from Girlfriends with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I die-cut the watercolor paper using the Park Avenue scalloped die in an unconventional way. I matted it with red cardstock and finally framed it with a black cardstock panel!
The dragons in the show aren’t quite as cute as this trio but I think it works! 😉 Thanks for visiting and have a great day!
