New Fall Stamps with Sunny Studio Stamps

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It’s Lisa here again, woot woot!  Today I’m popping in with a card using the newer Sunny Studio Stamp set called Pretty Pumpkins, and this set is pretty!  I love layered stamps and Sunny Studio Stamps creates some of the best ones.  The dimension is incredible!  I also love to give them a watercolored look, and these stamps really make it look hand done check it out…

Aren’t they so cool?  With this set you can achieve some clear and crisp dimension if you use just your inks, but with the Clean Color Real Brush Markers I was able to achieve the more blended and watercolor look that I was looking for.  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers used include:052, 023, 070, 061, 066,072, 036, 047,048.  I also have to thank my MISTI for making these images so easy to stamp.  To start I would color directly onto the stamps first and stamp them several times.  Then I could go over the ink with a water brush to smooth the color out.  For the darkest layer I chose to keep the lines more crisp and only went over them very lightly with my water brush.  For a more dimensional scene I used masking for the largest pumpkin and stamped the other two pumpkins in the background.

I then used colored in my own ground and a touch of a blue sky.  To finish the stamped panel I added a sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Giving Thanks set with Memento Ink, and die cut the whole thing with Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Rectangle Dies.

With layers of patterned paper, enamel dots and twine my card was complete!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy Crafting!

Cute As A Button!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Yes you are, but so is this card!  I loved the new layered stamp set by Sunny Studio called, Cute As A Button, the minute I saw it!  So of course I had to share some of my love with all of you, take a peek!

To create this card I started by stamping my buttons, first in the lighter color, and the second with my darker colors.  Once they were all stamped, I used the matching die set to cut them out.  Seriously, these buttons are so much fun to make that you really want to just keep making them!

Next, I began working on my sentiment.  I decided to go with the circle theme of the buttons and I cut out a circle with my Stitched Circle Dies.  To add some bright colors with a marbled effect I grabbed my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a Waterbrush.  While this was drying I created the background of my card with some patterned papers found in the Echo Park Dots and Stripes Paper Pad.

When the circle had finally dried, the sentiment was added using Versafine Ink.  This ink is perfect when using watercolors as it won’t bleed or smear.  I then began to layer up my circle, buttons and background.  To finish the card off I used a fun mix of Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins.

The best part about the layered stamps is how easy they come together, but the depth that is created can have you playing for days!  Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see what you are creating linked up in our current challenge!

Happy Crafting!

Today I’m featuring a bunch of new products in the MarkerPop store! First, my set of Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, and then My Favorite Things‘ (MFT) new (and a tad older!) stamp & die sets.

I created a fun interactive card that combines these MFT products:

All the images are colored with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and my Water Brush onto Distress Watercolor cardstock.

I integrated a couple trusty Lawn Fawn dies into this project, Grassy Border and STAX Large Stitched Rectangle. The patterned papers are MFT’s: Dots & Stripes Neutral and Subtle Plaids. These Pretty Pink Posh (PPP) cupped sequins were such a cute addition to this sweet card:

And the cute googly eyes on the frog are PPP Silly Eyes 4mm.

Beautiful Inside & Out

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

This month on the MarkerPop blog we are focusing on different watercoloring mediums! And to tell you the truth, I was pretty unsettled with this – lol! This is because I am pretty much a Copic girl. I’ve used watercoloring pencils before, and they can be SO beautiful; I’ve colored with Distress inks, and they can be amazing! But to be honest, I never felt like I could get the look like I wanted. Then, along came Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers; ohhh, I was very, very curious, but I never took the plunge to order them. That’s why I was pretty excited that this month gave me the excuse to HAVE to try them!

Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers are available in 80 colors; here is the entire color chart:

You can buy sets or singles of the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers; I chose to dive in with a medium size set, the Set of 24. I felt it had a good range of colors ranging from all the basics to a few “in-betweens” for each color group. But there are smaller sets (Set of 6, the Set of 12, or even 4 different Sets of 4 are available) if you want to start smaller. And then there are the larger sets that are available (Set of 36Set of 48, and the Set of 60!). Here’s the chart that shows 4 of the sets available (24, 36, 48, 60):

Here’s a great video by Jennifer McGuire showing & demonstrating these great markers:

OK, on to my card for today; now remember, this was my first time using these markers! And I’ll tell you, I was thrilled with them! You can get a completely different look than mine today; for example, check out Lisa’s project yesterday where she’s also using these markers! Mine is a very solid, dark color, and hers is very light (& gorgeous!).

For my card, I’m using and older set by Altenew (I have just recently become obsessed with Altenew, so my collection is very small, but growing! I’m featuring the Oriental Orchids stamp set (they have a coordinating die set, also).

The colors I used for this card are:

After coloring, I painted some Zig Wink of Stella Yellow onto the center of the flowers; it changed the colors from a dark red to a red-with-a-hint-of-yellow. It looks very pretty in person!

Then I painted Zig Clear Wink of Stella onto the sentiment. Now, I felt the card was lacking in something, so I pulled out Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl, and spritzed the entire card; it gave it a great shimmer. My final touch was adding Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow sequins in 4mm and 6mm

Have a wonderful day, and Happy Crafting!
