Christmas… A Tad Early

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

hehehe!  I can’t help it!  I know I’m super early with a  Christmas card, but when all of these amazing stamp companies start releasing all of the new Christmas goodness I just have to play!!!  It’s Lisa here, btw, and today I’m having fun with the new Avery Elle Stamp Set called Winter Woodland Wonders.

See the cuteness?!  How could I resist? To create this card I started by stamping the birch trees on my panel as a background.  I then added the sentiment and ornament.  On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the ornament a second time along with 5 holly and that adorable bear.  I knew that I wanted my bear to be in the foreground of my card so I die cut the hill and added Nuvo Glimmer paste in Moonstone with my finger and set it off to dry.  I went back to my stamped images and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers.

Once everything was colored I cut out the bear, the bottom part of the ornament and the holly to adhere to my card.  The snowy hill was added to the bottom front with foam adhesive tape.  I then went back and added some light blue snowflakes to the background.  After the stamped panel was complete I layered it onto some striped patterned paper from Lawn Fawn.

With Sympathy

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

{Happy Thursday, Crafters! Valerie here, and I know you’ll all know what I’m talking about here… Life has been utterly crazy for me! With surgery (and the recovery from it), starting a new full-time job while still working the old part-time job, my son’s Prom, AND a death in the family, things have been quite crazy for me. SO, with that said, I apologize for not having a post done for today! HOWEVER, I had this one ready to go on my blog for another day, so I decided to pull it over here to the MarkerPop blog, instead, because I think we can all understand my situation, right?!}

I had to make 2 completely different cards yesterday; one for my friends who are Expecting (YAY!!), and one for my Aunt & Uncle who unexpectedly lost their daughter, my cousin; talk about complete opposites. And actually, you could say that the card making was actually a therapy for me, as I’m grieving my wonderful cousin that we have lost way too soon.

Let’s start with the happy card! For this one, I pulled out a sweet old Lawn Fawn set, Plus One, and it’s coordinating die set. All the other dies used for this card are also Lawn Fawn; you can see them in the supply list at the end. I colored the image with Copic Sketch markers. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh cupped sequins: Cornflower 4mm & Pink Blush 6mm.

For my condolences card, I pulled out a favorite Altenew set of mine, Extra Special. It stamps beautifully, and the image is just so pretty. I stamped the purples with the inks from Altenew’s Shades of Purple ink set. The greens are from Altenew’s Tropical Forest ink set.

Thanks for stopping by, and hug your loved one real tight <3

Piñata Kind of Day…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It’s Lisa here and today I have a cute CAS card to share with you that is sure to brighten anyones day.  When I first saw the Piñata Squidgy Set by Stampingbella I just adored the little girls face.  As I looked at the set more, I fell in love with the sentiment too!

Isn’t she the cutest?!  To create my card I started by stamping the girl and piñata images onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock.  I LOVE this cardstock… the thickness is amazing, and your Spectrum Noir Markers blend beautifully on it!  Any who, I colored these images in with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers.  I have to brag a little about these markers too as I really like the thin nib on one end that allows you to get into tiny areas easily (and they are on sale, and I mean big time sale!).  Once they were completely colored I fussy cut them out and set them to the side.  Next, I worked on my frame by diecutting some yellow and blue watercolored patterned paper by Lawn Fawn with the My Favorite Things Stax Stitched Mini Scallop Oval.  I then stamped the piñata image again, but onto the blue patterned paper and without coloring it in.  I used Tombow Mono Glue to adhere my colored and cut images onto my card front, and I finished the card off my stamping the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you are able to join us in our newest challenge, and don’t forget to check out the awesome giveaway that is happening now!

Beary Warm Wishes…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa Lahiff here with you today and I have this super cute bear card that is sure to melt a few hearts this Holiday season…

To create this card I started by stamping the bear and presents from the My Favorite Things Birthday Bears Stamp Set onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock.  I then colored them in with various Copic® Markers (Bear: C1, W9, R20; Presents: B24, B28, B95, YG17, G14, R24, R29).  After I cut all of the images out I set them to the side and began working on the background.  I wanted to create a fun snowy scene so I grabbed the My Favorite Things Snowfall Horizontal die and cut it out of a blue textured cardstock.  To create a snowy hill for the bear to sit on I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders One.  The sentiment was added to the lower right corner of the hill coming from the new Altenew Holiday Wishes Stamp Set and Lawn Fawn Deep Sea Die Ink.  I layered everything together and adhered the bear and one present with foam adhesive.
