Happy Day MarkerPop! friends.
Annette Allen here with you today for a new Challenge… Anything Goes!
Today I am getting crafty with:
I love the thought of Spring.
I know it is still winter but really excited for Spring.
So I am getting colorful today.
  • Stamp, color and die cut images.
  • Add enamel dots to center of flowers.
  • I took a fine X-Acto knife and cut out the jar center so I could make it a shaker.
  • I created this colorful watercolor background.
  • I used sequins centers and adhered to background just to give it a little spice.
Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Crafting.

Hope You Have a Beautiful Day

Hello Crafters!

It’s Kelly here and I’m bringing you a fun watercolor card using Zig Clean Color markers.

DSCN0501

I die cut two rectangles with a stitched edge so I could give the look of a highlighted image. I used my MISTI to stamp it twice. Once on the large rectangle and once on the small. This allowed everything to line up perfectly.

DSCN0502

I added my Zig markers directly to paper before blending them out with water. Once everything was dry I added a white border to the smaller rectangle and stamped my sentiment on top. A white gel pen outline was used to help it stand out. Last but not least I used some clear sequins to finish it.

Thank so much for visiting.

For today’s card I used:

Zig Clean Color Markers, WPlus9’s Flora and Fauna 2 and Doodlebuds. Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins

You and Your Big Dreams

Kelly is using the newly released Stamping Bella Rubber Stamp: Tiny Townie Amanda is Awesome. Her card is gorgeous, and her already written post for me is great! She’ll take it from here!…

As soon as I saw this image I saw a sunset background. I tried some other ideas but this sunset refused to be ignored. I’m glad it was so insistent. I love the way it came out 🙂

I started by stamping my image on watercolor paper using a Copic safe ink. Normally, you wouldn’t use this with a watercolor piece but I masked it with Liquid Friskett so it didn’t bleed. It’s really easy, you just paint it on with a paintbrush and let it dry. I keep a paintbrush that is entirely devoted to this because even when you clean it right away it still stays a bit sticky.  Once the mask is dry add in your watercolor background. I used my Zig markers to add color directly to the paper. I did go in an order that made sense for a sunset but it’s okay to have fun too. I added a bit of pink up near the blue just for some variation. Using a wide brush add water to your background. I chose to do sweeping strokes from left to right. These markers blend so easy! Truly, this took me maybe 30 seconds and it was gorgeous all by itself! Once the background is dry you can pick up the mask by rubbing your fingertips or an eraser across the surface. It peels up really easily.

I colored the stamped portion with Copic markers. When coloring an image where the light source is in front of your image only the edges will have any kind of light. Everything else will be mostly in shadow. I colored the image like I normally would with no consideration for the light source. Then I went back in with darker colors and lots of grays to get the shadows right.  I also added some copic marker to my grass to make it look more realistic. I used my white gel pen to add some detail to her dress. Whenever I’m done coloring I always outline my image with a Copic multiliner to help it stand out from the background.

The sentiment that comes in this set is hysterical but I only wanted to use the “I Miss You” so I masked the rest of it before inking my stamps. This is a great way to get more mileage out of what you already have. I used post its but you can use whatever you have on hand. Tape or scrap paper will work just as well.

Beautiful, Kelly! Thank you so much! I, myself, don’t have those Zig Markers – yikes, I think I’ll have to invest in some now!

Have a wonderful rest-of-your-weekend, Crafters, and don’t forget you have one more week for the current Challenge: Anything Goes!

A Rare Ruby

Rubeena Naz

Ruby made a fantastic, adorable shaker card for today! She actually wrote out her process and techniques for me  (yay!), so I’ll let her take it from here!…

With some masking, I stamped the giraffes from WPlus9’s Party Animal and the tree stump from WPlus9’s Happy Mail with Ranger black dye ink on watercolor paper. The sentiments are from Unforgettable.

image2

I colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: 060 Brown062 Dark Brown064 Oatmeal066 Dark Oatmeal071 Flesh Colour, and 220 Tea Rose. I didn’t add any water to them. I masked them and watercolored the background with some distress inks in Black SootChipped SapphireHickory SmokeStormy SkySalty Ocean, and Mowed Lawn. Once it was dry, I sprayed with Hero Arts Unicorn White ink spray.

image6

I stamped the balloon from Party Animal on separate watercolor paper and watercolored in Mermaid Lagoon. Once it was dry, I die-cut it and attached some fun foam behind it.

image8

I die-cut the frame using stitched rectangle dies and taped it to acetate sheet. I colored it with a Zig Clean Color Real Brush in the color 023 Scarlet Red. For this part, I did add water since I was coloring a larger area.

I added more fun foam behind the frame and attached the balloon to the frame so I would know where to draw the balloon string.

I filled the inside with Pretty Pink Posh sequins that matched the colors I used and then taped down the top frame.
