Happy Dance!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello, hello!  It is Lisa here today and I have a happy little card that’s sure to make anyone’s Birthday even brighter!  This card features the new Winnie and Walter Happy Dance Stamp Set and the Concord & 9th Sunshine Turnabout Stamp Set

This was my first time using one of the Concord & 9th’s Turnabout sets, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was!  I do suggest that you visit their video on how to mark the center of your set and how to create your own template too.  Once I had done these myself I used bright Memento Colored inks all the way around.  I then set this panel to the side.

Next, I worked on my second panel by stamping this happy little guy in the middle and the sentiment from the Happy Dance Stamp Set with Memento Ink.  To color my bear in I used a mix of Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in Warm Beige and Saddle Brown.  I decided to go over the edges of this panel with Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet and Broken China.

At this point I still felt like there was something missing so I decided to stamp, color and cut some of the streamers to add to the panel.  After these were adhered to the front of the base I finished the card off with a few colorful sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  And don’t forget to join our challenges and our current giveaway!

Inlaid Die Cutting: A Treat For Your Eyes!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I have a fun card that not only looks beautiful, but can really play tricks on your eyes, check it out…

With the use of a technique called Inlaid Die Cutting I was able to add my sentiment in the middle of my image, while keeping the entire image intact!  It’s so cool, and I love the results every time I do it.  The trick to this technique is making sure you keep all of the little pieces that go back into the die cut.  I keep a piece of washi tape close by to attach those smaller cuts to, so that I can continue to work on the rest of my card without accidentally knocking one off.

Now the specific stamp set I used is by Winnie and Walter and is called Mini Scenery: Bed of Roses, and is currently out of stock, sorry!  But you are still able to put your name on the back order list if you wish, or there are other ways to achieve this same look.  Simply mask off a rectangle area, or any shape you wish, stamp the area with a background stamp and voila.  I then colored the image in with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers (Lilac HB1, Hydrangea HB2, Fruit Pink PP5, Denim TB3).  I love the dreamy color blend I was able to create with these markers.  Finally, I diecut the thanks by Lawn Fawn and adhered the word with foam adhesive over the negative cut.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you’ll give this technique a try!

Happy Day + ZIGs

Written by jpascarella. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! Less than one year ago, I was scared of watercolors! I was scared of them! I threw away many projects, just because I was not happy with my watercolor skills. In fact, one of my goals last year was to work on my watercolor techniques! But when I got my hands on Zig Clean Color Markers, I fell in love!

Today, I paired up my Zig markers with the super cute Waffle Flower’s Happy Day stamp set:

I struggle when it comes to shadows. The Zig markers help out so much with that! I grabbed three shades of brown to color in the bear image.

Start with the lightest shade of brown and color the outline of the image. Using water and a paintbrush, spread the color from the outside towards the inside of the image.

Do the same with the middle shade of brown.

Now add the darkest shade of brown around the outer edges and spread the color towards the inside.

Now it is time to color in the rest of the image. To finish of this card, the sentiment is stamped and embossed in white onto a black strip of cardstock.

Don’t forget to enter your chance to win some watercolor supplies! Stop by HERE to find out the details!

The following ZIGs were used on today’s project: 021, 047, 052, 065, 072, 081

Have a wonderful day!

Be Kind: Clean and Simple

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you toady and I have a very clean and simple card to share with you today, using lots of new goodies from the store!  Let’s take a peek…

This card is simple to re-create and the only time consuming part is the coloring.  I love to color so it is more like therapy than taking up time, hehehe!  This cutie is from the new Stamping Bella release called: Tiny Town Garden Girl Poppy.  An example of her colored can be seen on the front of the stamp image and it is done in red, but I was just feeling the purples so I went with it.  Copic® Markers Used include: Face – E00, E21, E50, R20, Hair – E25, E57, E59, Dress and Flower top – BV0000, BV01, BV02, BV04, BV13, BV17, Tights – C1, C5, Leaves – YG17, YG25, Outline – B000.

MarkerPOP has recently added some new stamp companies to their shelves and one of them being Sugar Pea Designs.  So I grabbed a sentiment from one of my favorite stamp sets by them called Kindness Matters and I stamped it slightly in the lower right corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don’t forget to enter your projects into our latest challenge!
