Hello.. Dear Friend

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi everyone… It’s Holly here today and I have a watercolored card using the gorgeous new set from Wplus9 called Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias. I used the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor set and some 140lb Canson Watercolor paper.

mp2

I stamped the image onto a piece of watercolor paper and heat embossed it in White. Then I colored it in using the following colors from the Watercolor set. For the Flower I used No. 34 Dark Pink, Leaves No.53 Mid Green and a little No.52 Ocean Green. The Background wash is No.64 Blue. I added clean water to parts of the image and then I added the color using the wet on wet technique.

mp1

After the image panel was dry I die cut the panel using the Blueprints #15 from MFT. Then I die cut the Hello using the WPlus9 Hand Lettered Hello die, from the center of the image. I carefully removed all the pieces from the die and set them aside. Then I die cut four more Hello’s from some Black Licorice card stock from Lawn Fawn. I inlaid one of the Black Hello’s into the center of the image and then I stacked it with three more. I added the original Hello that I die cut from the image over the top of the stacked Hello’s. I added in all the tiny center pieces and then I stamped Dear Friend onto a piece of white card stock using some Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink and added it with Foam adhesive. I adhered the image panel to a Black top folding card base with my ATG gun.

Hello

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Happy Friday everyone.. Holly here today with a card using the Gorgeous Beautiful day set from Altenew and a new product to the store… Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors. These come in 4 different sets ranging from 12 to 36 color sets. For my card today I used the 36 color set.

mp2

I started by stamping the outline images from the Beautiful Day set onto a piece of Watercolor Paper using some VersaMark Ink and heat embossing it in White. I prepped my paper before I stamped each image with the Inkadinkdo Embossing Magic Bag to remove static. Once I had the images all set I trimmed the card stock to size.

mp1

I added some clear water with a small brush to each petal working one at a time and then I dropped in some of the watercolor and let the water move it around. I went back into the petal with a clear almost dry brush and started working towards the color to fade it out into white. I built the color up as each layer dried.

I used the colors 139 Purple for the Flower Petals, 42 Bright Yellow for the Flower center, 58 Ever Green for the leaves and 64 Blue for the outline around the flowers. These watercolors are very pigmented so you want to add a small amount and gradually build your color. They are perfect for coloring in images like these from Altenew.

mp3

I mounted the panel offset onto a piece of Bazzill Licorice Twist card stock with some foam adhesive. Then I added the panel to a top folding White card stock and I added a sentiment from the Altenew Label Love set. The sentiment is stamped in VersaFine Black ink and fussy cut it out. For a bit of Sparkle I added a few Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh with some liquid glue.

Be sure to stop by the store and check out all the new products that are arriving… Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone it’s Holly here today with a fun card using a brand new product to the markerPop store!! I created a background for my images using some Ken Oliver Color Burst Powders. They are now available in the store along with the awesome Ken Oliver Best ever Craft Mat!

mp2

I started with a piece of  Watercolor card stock cut to A2 size. I spritzed some water into the center of the paper and then I lightly tapped some of the Ultramarine Blue powder into the center. I picked the card stock up and moved the paper around to spread the color. I heat set it with my heat tool and set it aside.

mp1

Then I stamped the images from the Avery Elle Woodland Wonders set onto some Neenah Solar White card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with Copics. Then I die cut them using the coordinating dies and my Big Shot.

mp3

I die cut a piece of White card stock using the Mama Elephant All Prettied Up Creative Cuts and then I trimmed the panel I created the Blue background on to fit behind my focal panel. I assembled some of the die cut images behind the circle in the panel and then I adhered the Background piece. I added some foam adhesive to the back and adhered it to a standard top folding Grey A2 size card base. I added the rest of my images with some additional foam adhesive.

I used the following Copics:

Tree: W00, W1, W3 Leaves: YG17, YG09 & G07 Banner: C0, C1 & 0 Owl: E11, E13, E15 & E18

Butterflies: YR12, YR07 & Y00

Check out the video below for more details on how I created this card.

A Hello and A Goodbye

Written by Kelly Latevola. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello Crafters!

Today is bittersweet because this is my last post for MarkerPOP.

I’m sad to go because it’s been such a wonderful team but I also know it’s time to move on. Thank you so much for sharing in my journey for the past six months. I’ve had tons of fun and found endless inspiration.

For today’s card I started by painting some Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio onto my watercolor paper. Once that was dry I ran it through my die cutting machine with the new Neat and Tangled Wholehearted die.  I then set to work stamping 🙂 The very best part in my opinion.

DSCN3014

I stamped two of the flowers and some leaves from the Fresh Blooms set. I colored them with my Copic markers in RV02, RV04, RC06, YG01, YG03 and YG17. I outlined them with a journaling pen and then fussy cut them out. I used my Memento Tuxedo Black Marker to outline the edges. For my sentiment I heat embossed the Painted Hello in white on black cardstock and fussy cut that out too. They have a die available you could use too, I just don’t own it.

I adhered the flowers down flat and popped the hello up with dimensional adhesive. I finished the card off with some gold sequins from the Sunset Shimmer mix.

Thanks so much for everything!

XoXo
