Hello and WELCOME!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I love creating Valentine’s Day cards.   Here is one of the cards I created using the adorable Bluebell With Friend stamp from Wild Rose Studio.   Isn’t this  stamp just so cute?

For my mini tutorial for you today – I will demonstrate how I add texture to a colored image using Prisma colored pencils.   This is a technique that is fun and can really add interest to your Copic colored images.

Hi Crafters! It’s Valerie here, and my card for today is a whole lotta cuteness, pink and hearts!

For this sweet card, I used a bunch of Lawn Fawn products:

Lawn Fawn {ValByDesign, 2015}

The images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto X-Press It lending Card Paper, and colored with Copic Sketch markers:

  • Blue Jays: B01, B04, B06 / Beaks: YR04 / Scarf & Ear Muffs: Y3, Y15 /
  • Trees: T0, T2
  • Birdhouse: E21, E23
  • Fox: E04, E07, E19 / E50, E53 / Nose: R05
  • Frame Around Sentiment: C1

Lawn Fawn {ValByDesign, 2015}

The pink sky is Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries) applied to Distress Watercolor Cardstock with my 1″ Round Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tools. Then I spritzed the finished sky with water from my Ranger Mini Mister Spray Bottle.

The falling snow is little dots of White Enamel Accents.

I painted the frame on the sentiment, and the birds’ scarf and earmuffs, with Zig Wink of Stella Clear Brush.

Lawn Fawn {ValByDesign, 2015}

The patterned cardstocked is all from the Pink Paislee’s 6×6 Pen Pals collection. I diecut the oval opening with my MFT Die-namics Stitched Oval die.

The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh’s Sparkling Clear Cupped 4mm  & 6mm

My adhesive of choice is the Crafter’s Companion tape runner

Love – Distress Ink Splatter

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi, everyone!  Kelli here today with a fun ‘love’ card to share with you.  This particular card I’m going to give to my husband for Valentine’s Day!  The main focus of this card is the background so I wanted to keep the sentiment pretty simple.  For the ‘love’ I stamped the l, v, and e from the Lawn Fawn – Quinn’s ABCs stamp set with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It – Blending Paper and colored them with Copics:
l – BV04, BV02, BV01
v – V17, V15, V12
e – RV29, RV25, RV23

I cut them out with the coordinating Quinn’s ABCs die set and adhered them to a black piece of card stock.  The heart for the o and the black hearts were cut out with the Lawn Fawn – Hearts die set.

Behind the black piece I adhered some pink patterned paper from the Doodlebug – Kraft in Color (Color) 6×6 paper pad.  Then I tied a bow with some Purple Crush baker’s twine.

To make the background I took 5 different mini distress ink pads in random purples and pinks and stamped them directly onto a nonstick craft sheet.  I sprayed them with some water from a Ranger – Mini Mister and then set a piece of Tim Holtz – Watercolor Paper directly into the ink puddles.  I dried it off with a heat tool and then dabbed it back into the ink puddles to achieve the darker spots.
The Distress Ink colors I used were:
Picked Raspberry from Kit #1
Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac from Kit #4
Dusty Concord from Kit #8
Milled Lavender from Kit #11

I cut that piece out using a die from the Lawn Fawn – Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die set.

Everything was adhered using the Crafter’s Companion – Adhesive Runner and dimensional foam adhesive.

To finish everything off I added some Wink of Stella Glitter Pen in Clear to all of the letters and the hearts and then covered the hearts with Glossy Accents.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂
