{Happy Thursday, Crafters! Valerie here, and I know you’ll all know what I’m talking about here… Life has been utterly crazy for me! With surgery (and the recovery from it), starting a new full-time job while still working the old part-time job, my son’s Prom, AND a death in the family, things have been quite crazy for me. SO, with that said, I apologize for not having a post done for today! HOWEVER, I had this one ready to go on my blog for another day, so I decided to pull it over here to the MarkerPop blog, instead, because I think we can all understand my situation, right?!}

I had to make 2 completely different cards yesterday; one for my friends who are Expecting (YAY!!), and one for my Aunt & Uncle who unexpectedly lost their daughter, my cousin; talk about complete opposites. And actually, you could say that the card making was actually a therapy for me, as I’m grieving my wonderful cousin that we have lost way too soon.

Let’s start with the happy card! For this one, I pulled out a sweet old Lawn Fawn set, Plus One, and it’s coordinating die set. All the other dies used for this card are also Lawn Fawn; you can see them in the supply list at the end. I colored the image with Copic Sketch markers. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh cupped sequins: Cornflower 4mm & Pink Blush 6mm.

For my condolences card, I pulled out a favorite Altenew set of mine, Extra Special. It stamps beautifully, and the image is just so pretty. I stamped the purples with the inks from Altenew’s Shades of Purple ink set. The greens are from Altenew’s Tropical Forest ink set.

Thanks for stopping by, and hug your loved one real tight <3

With Prayers

Hi everyone, Valerie here today 🙂

Sympathy cards are so hard to make, and it was with deep sadness that I had to make this card for a dear friend.

I used Lawn Fawn’s stamp set, Penelope’s Blossoms. The Ink is Memento’s London Fog. The paper I stamped on is Artisan Smooth White stamping paper.

There are a TON of itty bitty stamps in this set, so I used a lot of Apple Pie Memories stamping blocks to speed up the stamping process!

I added a little shine with my Zig Wink of Stella on ALL the flowers.

The card base is Bazzill Classic Smooth White. And my adhesive is the Crafter’s Companion tape runner.

Hop on over to my blog to see more photos, where I got my inspiration from for this card, and the sentiment I used inside.

Take care, my friends, and be sure to hold your loved ones real tight!
