Lawn Fawn Bookmarks: Front and Back

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you today and I could no longer resist the cuteness of the Lawn Fawn For You Deer Set, so I’m bringing these cuties your way…

Aren’t they just so cute?!  While there is a matching Add On Die, I didn’t use that and instead used a MFT Tag Die that I already owned as the base for my bookmark.  I then added a window with a circle die for my critters to peek through.  The new Sugar Pea Designs Spots and Stripes Brights paper pad was the perfect designer paper to add a pop of color to my bookmarks.

As for my critters I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Markers.  I used the matching Lawn Fawn For You Deer Die Set to cute them  out and set them up in the window.  The sentiments were the last things stamped and cut to put on the front of the bookmarks.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Don’t forget about the amazing giveaway going on, the video challenge, and our bi-weekly challenge!  Whew!

Aloha…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It is Lisa here with you today, and as the weather warms up here in Ohio I couldn’t help but be inspired by the summer that is unfolding around me…

To create this card I started by die cutting my tag from the Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Square Tag Dies.  I then stamped the Aloha from the Sugar Pea Designs Pineapple Paradise Stamp Set. The font in this set is so pretty!  I added a few splashes of Gold Spray Mist, and set this off to the side.

Next, I stamped my pineapple (also from the Sugar Pea Designs Set) and cut it out to layer onto my tag.  While I was looking at the pineapple I thought it needed more dimension.  To create dimension in the colors I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in a slightly darker color than what the image was stamped in. (TN3 and LG4)  Once I created my card base I used some fun summer themed patterned paper from the Pebbles Sunshiny Days 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

I hope this card bring a little sunshine your way,  Don’t forget to join us in our monthly challenges!  We have an awesome prize box up for grabs this time around!  Just use some of your markers that we carry in the store and your project is good to go!

Copic Various Ink Refills and Backgrounds

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It is Lisa here with you today, and I’m super excited to share a new to me technique with all of you! Todays technique is all about your Copic Refill Inks, and how to create your own dreamy and faux watercolor backgrounds.  Check it out…

First you will need glossy paper and your Copic Various Ink Refills.  I used old glossy photo paper that I had scraps of and it worked perfectly.

Next you will remove the lids of all of them so that you are able to add drops from each color quickly to your paper.  I made sure to keep my lid lined up behind my tube so I could keep them straight and know when to add a new color.

Yes, it looks like a whole lot of nothing but drops… but as you add each color letting them mix as you go you can really see the background form.  Sometimes I would let one layer dry before adding another drop of a different color.  I also used the Colorless Blender Various Ink while the other inks were wet to help spread the color and to create unique ripples.

And here is a picture of it dry and done…

My first intent with the finished piece was to die cut various shapes out of it, but after I saw the finished results I couldn’t bare to cut it so I decided to use it in it’s entirety on my project…

I just love how this turned out!  Other products used to create my card include Sugar Pea Designs, Altenew, and Pretty Pink Posh.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you’ll give this technique a try!
