There’s no Otter…

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello everyone.. Happy Valentine’s Week! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I have a cute card for you that’s perfect for your special Valentine. I’m using the Otterly Adorable set from Mama Elephant.

I started by die cutting a frame from some Kraft card stock using the Framed Tags Park Avenue Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant. Then I created a sunset background on a piece of Tim Holtz Distress watercolor paper. I used a mix of Mermaid Lagoon, Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks. Then I die cut a piece of vellum using the coordinating die in the Otterly Adorable set. I adhered the vellum and the Distress inked panel behind the Frame. Then I added the card front to a top folding A2 size card base.

I stamped the images onto a piece of the same Distress watercolor paper using some VersaFine Black ink. Then I colored them in with Distress markers  and a small damp paintbrush. I used the following colors: Gathered Twigs, Spun Sugar, Tea Dye, Squeezed Lemonade, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo &  Hickory Smoke.

I used the coordinating Creative Cuts and die cut the images and then I adhered the Otters behind the vellum with some Foam Adhesive. I die cut the speech bubble from the same Framed Tags Creative Cuts set and stamped the sentiment in VersaFine ink. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. This is a really cute set and a must have!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Merry Christmas Poinsettias

Written by Jessica Frost. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Good morning!  Jess here with some gorgeous watercolored poinsettias from Mama Elephant!  It’s the time of year when I start panicking about having enough Christmas cards so I’m always happy to find an easy but pretty design! 🙂

I started by stamping the sentiment and poinsettias onto watercolor paper with versamark before heat-embossing them with metallic gold sparkle embossing powder.  Then I watercolored them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and let them dry.  Finally I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a dark red Peppermint cardstock panel!

And that’s it!  Have a fabulous weekend and thanks for visiting!

Peace, Love, and Joy

Good morning!  Jess here with a Christmas card featuring new stamps and dies from Mama Elephant and my all-time favorite Mama Elephant set, Arctic Penguins!

Aren’t those penguins adorable!  I thought they’d be perfect to decorate my Christmas tree!  I started by stamping the tree from O’ Tiny Tree with copic friendly ink and then I colored the trunk with copic markers.  I stamped the greenery with Altenew inks before adding the string of lights.  I colored the lights with copic markers, added a glow around each bulb with a very light shade of copic marker, and then covered each light with glossy accents.

Once that dried I stamped the sentiment from Merry Woofmas with Altenew ink and then started working on my penguins from Arctic Penguins.  I masked off their ice skates before stamping them on my card panel.  I colored their beaks and feet and then added the star to my tallest penguin.  I colored the star with copic markers and added spectrum noir sparkle and glossy accents over the star.  To ground my scene I die-cut the Union Square Frame Cuts with red cardstock and adhered it over my card panel.

I love combining old and new stamp sets to create new scenes and Mama Elephant’s older sets coordinate PERFECTLY with their new sets!  Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day! 🙂

Hey everyone.. How was your weekend? It’s time to start making a few Christmas Cards in my house and the new release from Mama Elephant was perfect to get started with.

I started out with the Hillside Cover die from Mama Elphant and I die cut a piece of Watercolor paper. Then I added some color to the hills with a No. 36 Light Blue Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker and a damp paintbrush. Then I stamped the images from the new City Sidewalks set from Mama Elephant using some VersaFine Black Onyx ink on Watercolor paper and Colored them in with several Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. No. 50,51, 34,83, 61, 45, 31, 70, 49, 52, 94, 62, 46, 220, 27, 44, 66 & 47.  I used a damp paintbrush to move the color around for a watercolor look. Once they were dry I die cut them using the coordinating dies.

Using the Mini Misti I stamped the Sentiments in some additional VersaFine Black ink. Then I adhered the hillside panel to a top folding card base. I adhered my die cut images into the hills with some foam tape and liquid glue. I wanted to add some snow to the roofs of the buildings so I added some Copic Opaque White with a small paintbrush. Once the Opaque White was dry I used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to add some Shimmer to the snow.
