Open The Front Door With Lawn Fawn Cuteness!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It’s Lisa here with you today and it’s time to get interactive, but in the easiest way ever!  The Lawn Fawn Winter Release contained this adorable Door Die called Shut The Front Door. (Best name ever, don’t you think?!)  This die makes it possible to hide anything you want behind the door, and allows the recipient to open the door and find the surprise!  And all it takes is a little die cutting!

The front of this card just begs to be opened!  To create the look of a house I used an older Lawn Fawn Paper Pad, but you can use what you have in your stash or one of their newer Paper Pads that are available in the store.  Since I was going with a Christmas theme for this card I decided to go with whimsical house colors too.  The trim along the top was an idea I had after seeing the owner of Lawn Fawn, Kelly Marie Alvarez, do it on one of her videos.  I also mimicked the look of bushes by taking a decorative circle die and trimming off the bottoms.  But let’s move on to the super cute part of this card…

The INSIDE!!!  Look at that cute little Penguin wishing you a Merry Christmas!!! This little guy can be found in the Lawn Fawn Toboggan Set, and of course I had to give him a hat.  I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color him in and scissor to cut him out.  There is also a matching die set to this stamp, but I sometimes like to cut things out by hand.

The sentiment comes from the latest Mama Elephant Stamp Set called Puffy Holiday Greetings.  I used my Distress Oxide Ink in Candied Apple.  I chose this ink as I knew it would leave a crisp impression, as well as cover the patterned paper I was stamping it onto.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my card today!  I hope it brought you a little smile, and maybe some inspiration to crafty too!  Make sure you check out our awesome Fall Challengewhich contains some pretty amazing giveaways too!!!

So go on with your bad self and get crafting!

Wagon Beauty!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hi!  It’s Lisa here today, and surprise I have a watercolor card for you today, lol!  I hope you aren’t getting tired of them, but I’m having so much fun!  The stamp set I’ve used is called Garden Wagon Mini Set by Art Impressions (AI).  This company is a new one for MarkerPOP, and if you haven’t seen their sets you def. need to check them out!  They are innovative, pretty, cute, and funny.

I started by stamping my sentiment (from Mama Elephant), wagon and floral stems with Versafine Ink.  This ink is by far my favorite to use when I’m going to be watercoloring over my stamped images.  Next, I colored directly onto my floral dots with a variety of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers: Lilac, Purple, and Violet.  For my grass and stamps I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers: Olive Green and Deep Green and I hand drew some lines in.  Once I had all of the colors on the card I used a water brush to add some light touches to the flowers, and blended in the grass areas.  For the wagon I used Mid Gray and Green Gray.

I could have added a blue with my markers to create the sky, but I decided to take the easy way out and simply blended some Tumbled Glass Distress ink.  When everything was dry I ran the panel through my die cut machine with my Lacey Layers Waffle Flower Die.

The whole card was finished with patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Watercolor Wash Brights Paper Pack.  Thanks so much for joining me today, and I hope you’ll get a chance to play along in our recent challenge for your chance to win some goodies for yourself!

Fireworks and Mini Dogs? Yes!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It’s Lisa here with you today, and I have a super cute and sparkly card to share!  The adorable little dogs from the Mama Elephant Little Dog Agenda stamp set is perfect for everything!  I mean, those little guys can make anything look cute!  While this set is currently on backorder, you can get on the list for when it comes back in stock or pick up the similar Little Cat Agenda stamp set.

But, back to my card… so these little guys are ready for fireworks!  With the Lawn Fawn Stitched Fireworks Die it was easy to light up my sky…

To create this card I started by die cutting my sky and adding some shine with Ranger Stickles in Red, and Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard.  While this was drying I stamped, colored and cut my cute little dogs out.  I then added a hill for them to see the fireworks from by die cutting dark green cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders.  I put it all together and woo hoo!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this little scene!  And don’t forget to enter your projects into our newest challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Penny Black: Watercolor Designed Stamps

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I have a floral card to share with you.  I am sure many of you have seen the Penny Black stamps that resemble watercolored images once they are stamped, and I find them to be terrific!  The specific stamp that I have used for today’s project is called Magnolia Rhapsody, while this specific set is on back order there are many of the newest release sets that give the same results.

To create my card I started by stamping the Magnolia image with various Tombow Dual Brush Markers.  When you are wanting to add multiple layers of colors to one image I highly recommend using a MISTI.  This will save you so much time and just make everything easier!  After I had all of my colors added I used the blender pen that came in my Tombow Marker Set to blend the colors together, and to take away any splotchy areas.  You could also use a paintbrush and clean water for blending.

Next, I added my sentiment from the Mama Elephant Wishing You Stamp Set with Lawn Fawn ink in Deep Sea.  I then went around the borders of the card with Distress Ink in Broken China, and finished the card off with clear sequins.

I hope you are joining us in our latest challenge, as well as make sure you get entered into our latest giveaway!
