Trick or Treat

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi, everyone, Kelli here!  I hope you’re having a great day!  Today I have another relatively simple card for you.  I have been challenging myself to try and keep some of my projects simple because I am one of those people that never feels like I’m done, so I end up adding and adding.  I even still feel like this card needs something more, lol!  I focused on coloring a background for this project.  It’s not necessarily a tradition Halloween card at all, but I tried to stick to more common Halloween colors.  I used the long vine type stamp from the Lawn FawnBlissful Botanicals set which I stamped in MementoTuxedo Black ink.  I stamped them going up and down and then altered the direction.  Speaking of Lawn Fawn, iCopic just got in all the new Fall/Winter 2011 releases, they are adorable…head on over and check them out!

Here’s a closeup of the background.  You can see that it’s a little busy and colorful, so that’s another reason I wanted to keep the card simple.  To color all of these leaves, I used Copics: G28, G24 and G20 for the green.  YR16, YR15 and YR00 for the orange.  For the purple, V09, V06 and V05, and last but not least C9, C7 and C5 for the black.

I finished it off with a little stamped sentiment tag, a button and some cute Divine Baker’s Twine in Green Apple.

Thanks for stopping by!  🙂

Tuesday Tips & Tricks – Divine Twine!

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Hello Friends! It’s Rachel here with this week’s Tuesday Tips and Tricks! So excited to share with you today one of my favorite iCopic products… Divine Twine! The name could not be more perfect to describe this fabulous product. It has many basic uses for hanging tags, tying up packages and stitching, but today’s card focuses on it’s most fun use as an embellishment. I started off my card by using the super sweet Sew Lovely set by Lawn Fawn. I stamped out 3 spool images onto Kraft cardstock, cut out each image and wrapped Cotton Candy Divine Twine around each spool. Just adding the twine makes the spools really pop! It’s such an easy embellishment to add to your cards, but this simple embellishment can easily be transformed into a gift.

Did you know that by simply loading up a cut out Kraft cardstock spool with twine you can create a cute and simple gift for your crafty friends? What a fun little surprise to gift a collection of the 11 lovely colors of Divine Twine available at iCopic on these adorable kraft cardstock spools to a friend. Each roll of Divine Twine contains 240 yards of twine, so now with the holidays approaching you could easily prepare several gifts of mini stockings or clear bags filled with cardstock spools of twine.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s Tuesday Tips and Tricks! There are so many uses for Divine Twine and I know you will love having & sharing this DIVINE product.

Thanks for visiting and Have a Divine Day!

Tilda with Ponytail – Awwww!

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Dana here and I’ve got a Maggie for you!!

Isn’t she just the cutest thing? That’s Tilda with Ponytail.  Someone asked me recently how I cut out all those little spots (like right under her ponytail). Simple, I don’t… at least not with scissors. I find it’s much easier for me to cut out my images with an X-Acto knife. Then one other little tip, instead of going around the entire edge of your image with a black copic or pen to get rid of the white from cutting, I use each color of copic. For example, on her hair, I used YR24, face and arms E00, so on and so forth. It just takes a few extra seconds, I already have all those markers out and it really does add to the final over all look. Here’s a close up:

Our challenge this week is to color your embellishment. I colored a plain white prima flower with my YG11 in polka dots. The center of my layered flowers is a brad from Wild Rose Studio.

All of my papers are from Wild Rose Studio also. I love them!! My sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Sophies Sentiments set. Oh, and I can’t forget that dreamy Divine Twine!!
Last but not least, here are the colors:

I hope to see you in this weeks challenge, and we would also love to see any of your copic creations on our facebook page. You just might find yourself on our Saturday spotlight : )
Hugs~

TGF – Creeper Crew Monday

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Happy Wednesday to all my copic crafters!! Have you been enjoying your week? I have been! You know how every once in awhile it’s like a fire’s been reignited for the ol’ mojo? I feel like I’ve got mojo to spare so for all of ya’s feeling a little, you know, just “eh”… let’s get excited!!! Get out those copics, get some rubbah and let’s make some pretty stuff!
Even though I’ve colored this image before, using new colors made her feel like a brand new stamp to me. Here’s Creeper Crew Monday from The Greeting Farm:

I would’ve never have gone to this color palette but I got my inspiration from the gorgeous papers by Authentique and I really like how it turned out! Even those little touches of pink were perfect for her pink tipped hair : ) Here’s a close up:

Does this girl lack attitude? I almost thought about using the sentiment “As if..” but didn’t know if people still said that.. it’s kinda 80’s or maybe it was the 90’s.. lol! What I did use for the sentiment I pieced together from both the Amy R Sassy Sentiments set (DIVA)  and Lawn Fawn’s Sophies Sentiments  (love you) onto a ticket stamp from my stash and I think it works pretty good.
Here’s the copic colors I used:

The other stand by’s are my Memento Ink, X-Press It adhesive tape and Tim Holtz Distress Inks (for this card I used Walnut Stain). I seriously don’t know if I can make a card without those three : )

Well, that’s all from me for today but don’t forget to come back on Friday to join us for our blog hop!! My first one as part of this team and I am really excited! Also, I hope to see you in the challenge this week and how about uploading some of your copic projects to our Facebook page?  That’s a great place to add anything you are working on that may not fit this weeks challenge.
Hugs~
