No Line Coloring with Hero Arts

Written by Kelly Latevola. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials, Videos

Hello Crafters!

This past weekend I was so blessed to be able to attend CHA. While I was there I spent time with my girlfriends, ate good food, and stayed up to late all while stumbling around in a craft crazed stupor from all the pretty things. One of the pretty things included the Hero Arts booth and I was lucky enough to be gifted a new stamp set from a friend of mine. Needless to say I couldn’t wait to get it inky!

The stamp set is You’re So Lovely and it will be available February 5th in the store. Even though I love outline images and all the images in this set are solid I new I could still make it work for me, and you can too!

I put a short video together for you guys so you can see.

I think it gives a completely different look than just stamping a solid image don’t you? I love altering stamps to be something unique.

The Copic Markers I used are: C1, C3, C5, B32, B24, B26, B39, Y00, YG01, YG03, and YG25. I also used Clear Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents, and Clear Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.

I used Hero Arts ink to stamp the images, but Lawn Fawn has some similar colors that are good for Copic coloring, too: Deep Sea ink is similar for the blue flowers, and Celery Stick would be similar for the leaves .

Thanks for stopping in, have a wonderful weekend!

Always A Party

Written by Kelly Latevola. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials

Hello Crafters!

Today we are going to be creating a party atmosphere on our card. Sounds fun right?

DSCN2731

I was going for a disco ball type background and I think it worked out pretty nicely. Distress inks always blend out so nicely but they stamp well too. I used Salty Ocean, Abandoned Coral, and Fossilized Amber for this background. I also stretched my holiday stamps and that always makes me happy.

You can watch it all in the video below!

The girl is from The Greeting Farm’s Sing Hello which is a Christmas set, but paired with their Always A Party stamps she gets a whole new look. A little bit of Clear Wink of Stella helps the whole card shine.

The Copic Markers I used are: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, E04, E11, E000, E50. E53. E55, E57, E59, Y21, Y19, Y26,

R20, R32, R35, R29, R59, B00, B02, B04, and B06.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Happy Holidays: Quick Watercolor Backgrounds

Written by Kelly Latevola. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials, Videos

Hello Crafters!

We are getting down to the wire for mailing Christmas cards and I don’t know about you but I’m a wee bit behind.

I wanted to make a few pretty cards that were super quick. Enter the Zig Clean Color Markers to save the day.

DSCN2668

I used WPlus9’s Sunshine Layers Die and Holiday Boughs stamp set to make these simple (but colorful!) cards.

You can watch it all unfold in the video below.

Remember you can do as much or as little as you want. Stop wherever you are happy with it!

The Copic Markers I used are C3, C5, and C7. I used sequins from Neat and Tangled’s Sunset Shimmer and Pretty Pink Posh Clear.

Here’s a few pictures of the cards

I hope this gave you a few ideas for making some pretty and quick cards.

Thanks so much for dropping in!

Sending Joy: A Card Set

Written by Kelly Latevola. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello Crafters!

Seeing as how it is the Holiday season there are tons of opportunities to share kindness. Last week me and a few co-workers packed up some shoe boxes to send out to kids for Christmas. These show boxes couldn’t be sent off without cards of course 🙂

I was looking for something that I could create a gender neutral design with and I found my answer with Holiday Cheer from WPlus9

I made ten cards, one to go with each box.

2015-12-07 Card

I used my MISTI to make the multi stamping super easy. Don’t get me wrong making ten Copic colored cards is still time consuming but at least I didn’t have to stamp each individual mitten and hat.

I took individual shots of the cards, too:

I used a white gel pen  and a Copic Multiliner to add in details to make each set different. Open stamps like these are perfect for dressing up.  From left to right I used Copic Markers R32, R35, R37, R29, Y38, Y04, Y09, R29, Y11, Y02, Y19, YG01, YG03, G05, G28.

Again left to right: G00, BG34, BG15, BG45, BG05, BG07, BG49, B02, B04, B06, C1, C3, C5, B32, B24, B26, B28.

Lastly I used BV11, BV02, BV04, C1, C3, C5, RV02, RV55, RV09.

I added some snowflakes from WPlus9 onto my cardbase with their Fairy Dust ink for some interest. The sentiment is from an older WPlus9 set called Hand Lettered Holiday. I love it just as much as I love the new Christmas Greetings, which could easily be swapped out for the one I used. I popped up each panel with some craft foam and outlined the sentiments to finish them off.

I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I  know the kids will their box of goodies.

Thanks for dropping by!
