Hi Crafters, Valerie here today!

For the Challenge, I created a set of cards with varying sentiments, using Paper Smooches, Distress Inks, & Pretty Pink Posh, and a cool process I learned from Jennifer McGuire!

I’m using these Paper Smooches products: Natural Beauties stamp set (for the birds and the branch), all the sentiments came from the Word Salad stamp set, and the Fancy Frames Icon die set.

For the patterned background, I saw a cool idea from Jennifer McGuire on one of her videos (called Coloring with Bleach), and I HAD to try it. It involves distress inks, heat embossing, and BLEACH! Here is her video:

So for the blue card above, I used Mermaid Lagoon. On the yellow card below, I used Mustard Seed.

This next card is using Abandoned Coral. The stitched curved die cut on all the cards’ distress-colored papers are from the arched die in the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 1 die set.

This next card uses Wilted Violet. The clear drop bling are Pretty Pink Posh’s 4mm & 6mm Droplets.

And the last card has Carved Pumpkin on it. The birds and the branch were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It Paper, and colored with Copics:

  • Blue Bird: B00, B01, B04 / YR07
  • Red Bird: R17, R24, R27, R29 / YR07
  • Branch: E17

For the sky behind the birds, I masked them and the branch off with Mask-It Tack Film, and then rubbed Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass distress inks on with my Mini Ink Blenders.

It is definitely a fun process, and I know I will use it again!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

Merry & Bright

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Happy Saturday!! Valerie here, and I have a card today featuring Lawn Fawn and Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Inks!

This Christmas card is 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″. I stamped the sentiment from the Snow Day stamp set and the snowflakes from the Winter in the Park stamp set with VersaMark ink onto Distress Watercolor paper, and then heat embossed them with embossing powders..

Then I blended Ranger Tim Holtz Distress inks onto the paper (with my Mini Ink Blending Tools) over the stamped images, using Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean, and Blueprint Sketch.

The next step was to stamp the bench and the lamp post with Lawn Fawn’s Black Licorice ink. I then stamped the red bow with Lawn Fawn’s Lobster ink, and hand cut it out. After I glued it to the lamp post, I put Xmas Red Stickles on it. I cut out the background hill with a Lawn Fawn Hillside Borders die, die cut the bench’s snow with the Winter in the Park die set, and covered both the background snow hill and the bench’s snow with Sprinkled Sugar Stickles.

Then I assembled it all, and got this sweet Christmasy night-time snow scene card.

Hope you enjoy! Have a great weekend!

Merry Christmas….

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials, Uncategorized, Videos

Hi everyone it’s Holly here today.. I created a super cute card using Reindeer Games from Mama Elephant along with a Classic Mama Elephant set called Cozy Christmas.

mp2

I used the English Brick Wall Stencil from MFT and some Distress ink in Fired Brick ,Barn Door & a mini blending tool on a piece of White card stock to create the background. I trimmed a portion of the bottom off and added a piece of Brown card stock. Then I inlaid a window using the Window Watching Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant. I stamped the Reindeer & the Tree onto a piece of White card stock using some Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored them in with Copics.

mp1

I created a second background on a piece of Distress Watercolor paper and some Distress ink in Tumbled Glass and I added a few droplets of water to the background and patted it with a paper towel to create a snow effect.  Once that was dry I added the Reindeer image and adhered the panel to a Top Folding White card base. I added some Dimensional adhesive to the brick panel and adhered it over the Distress background panel onto the card front. I stamped the sentiment from Cozy Christmas onto a piece of White Card stock using Black Licorice ink from Lawn Fawn and trimmed it out.

Season’s Greetings

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized, Videos

Hi everyone it’s Holly here, and welcome back to the MarkerPop blog. Today I have a super cute card using the new Reindeer Games set from Mama Elephant.

mp2

I started out a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor card stock and I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks to create a ombre’ background. Then I die cut some hills using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Stitched Hillsides Borders and adhered them using Scotch ATG adhesive. Then I die cut the entire panel with the Mama Elephant Pizazz Pieces die set.

mp1

I stamped the greeting from the new Mama Elephant set Christmas Scene and heat embossed it in White along the top of the panel. I stamped the reindeer onto a piece of white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with Copics and fussy cut them out and adhered them with dimensional adhesive. The image panel is adhered to a Top folding White card base. I wanted a touch of shimmer so I added some Red & Green Wink of Stella to the reindeer collars and some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
