Happy Thanksgiving with Cute Critters!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Tutorials

Hello wonderful crafty friends!  It is Lisa here with you today, and while I know so many of us are getting ready for Halloween, the very next Holiday (Thanksgiving) will be upon us in America in not time at all.  So I’m just getting a little jump on things and sharing this super cute Thanksgiving card with all of you today…

To create this card I started by stamping the pumpkins and little pilgrim beavers from the Giving Thanks set by Pretty Pink Posh onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored them in with Copic Markers (E11, E15, E37, YR04, YR15, YR18, B95, B97, Y15, Y17, RV10, RV63, RV91, RV95). I then cut all of them out and set to the side.  I then stamped the leaf and acorn images all over the front of my cardbase, colored these in with Copic Markers (YG03, YR15, R46, E15, E27).  This time I did not add any shading as this was just for the background and I wanted the main focus to be on the characters.  I then went over the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I wanted to add a green little hill for my critters to stand on and to double as a place for my sentiment so I die cut a hill from the Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka in the Meadow Paper Pack and with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders Die Set.  I then stamped my sentiment with Versafine ink and added the critters with foam adhesive for more dimension.

Good morning!  Jess here with a holiday card using some fun new products from Lawn Fawn!

I started by blending distress inks onto a piece of white cardstock.  I used dried marigold, abandoned coral, picked raspberry, and festive berries.  Next I pressed my versamark pad all over the inked background and then heat-embossed it with clear hologram sparkle embossing powder.  This is hands-down my most favorite embossing powder in the whole wide world!  And did you see the amazing collection of Wow embossing powders that are coming to MarkerPop in a few short days!! 😉 I have yet to find one of their powders I don’t love!  Seriously, though…just check out that sparkle!

Next I die-cut the Lawn Fawn String of Lights from white cardstock and silver glitter cardstock.  I added spectrum noir clear sparkle all over the white cardstock and then added a thick layer of glossy accents and set it aside (for hours) to dry completely.  I wish you could see just how sparkly the lightbulbs are with the spectrum noir clear sparkle.  Once the lightbulbs were dry I adhered the silver tops and adhered them to the background panel.

Then I die-cut the Scripty Cheers with black cardstock, pressed a versamark pad over it, and heat-embossed it with the same clear hologram sparkle embossing powder before adhering it to the background.  Finally I adhered it to a black panel and adhered it that to a white card base!  Everyone has that one friend who loves to decorate their house with pink or teal Christmas trees…this would be the perfect card for that friend! 😉

Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi everyone.. It’s Holly here today! Halloween is just around the corner and I’m loving all the fun Halloween and Fall sets that have been released this year. It makes it really hard to pick a Favorite! Today I’m using the My Favorite Things Frightful Friends and Grave Situation stamp sets.

mp3

I started out by cutting two pieces of Neenah Solar White cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Then I die cut one panel using the Pizzaz Pieces Creative Cuts die set from Mama Elephant. I lined the die cut panel up with the other panel and made some pencils marks inside the circle window. Then using some Distress inks in Squeezed LemonadeDusty Concord and Spiced Marmalade I created a background for the window opening. Once the Distress inks were dry I stamped the Fence and Bat images from the Frightful Friends set using some VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I added some Foam tape to the back of the window panel and adhered it over the Distressed panel. Then I adhered both panels to a Black top folding card base.

I stamped the Vampire, Bat and Grass images from Frightful Friends and the Gravestones from Grave Situation sets onto some White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with Copics. Then I die cut them using the coordinating die sets and my Big Shot. I adhered them with liquid glue and foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment from Frightful Friends onto a piece of White cardstock in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and die cut it using the Avery Elle Pierced Banners Die set. Then I adhered it just behind the Vampire image with some additional Foam tape. I wanted a little extra highlight so I added some white with a White Gel Pen. Super Cute!!

I used the following Copic Sketch Markers:

Vampire: (Cap & Boots) R29, R17, R39, Y23, Y28 (Shirt) C1,C00 (eyes) B00,B000 (Suit) C8,C6, C4, C1 (Skin) E000, E00,E51, E53 (Hair)T8, T6, T5,T3 (Grave Stones) W0,W2,W4,W6, W8 (Grass) YG09,G07,G28.

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I’m using the new Spooky Sweets set and coordinating dies from My Favorite Things.

There’s a video below with all the details on how I made this card as well. I started by created a fun Distress Ink background on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor card stock that I die cut with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies from My Favorite things. I heat embossed the stars cluster image from the Spooky Sweets set using some WOW White embossing powder.  (P.S. We are carrying  WOW embossing powders in the store now.. there are so many Gorgeous Colors!) Then I “smooched” some Mustard Seed Distress ink onto the background.

I stamped the Pumpkins with Lawn Fawn inks in Carrot, Fake Tan and Pumpkin Spice. I layered each color to create the shading. The bats are stamped in VersaFine Black Onyx ink on some Neenah Solar White card stock. The images are die cut with the coordinating dies and then I adhered them to the distressed panel with liquid glue and foam tape. I stamped the sentiment onto a banner die cut from the MFT Blueprints 27 die set. I created a top folding White card base and added an offset panel of Black Licorice card stock cut with the same size Wonky Stitched die. Then I added the image panel and some Sparkling Clear Sequins from the Pretty Pink Posh mix.
