TGF Blush Bonnie

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Dana here and I know you just saw this image from Sami but it just goes to show you how much we all love her!! Our challenge this week is to color with our least favorite color. That’s hard for me because I adore all colors but if I have to chose a least favorite I have to pick green only because it is a color that I never chose for clothing. It just doesn’t look right with my skin tones. So here’s my Blush Bonnie in a pretty green dress:

I grunged up all those edges with copic opaque.  I also used it with my stylus to apply the dots to the scalloped edge of my nestie and the little dot accents on the fancy tag. Here’s a close up of Bonnie:

I tried a few different things on this. Not sure if I’ll do them again, but you never know if you don’t try, right? I used V91 to shade on her skin in addition to my normal skin tones. I also used chalk around my image instead of pure copics. I didn’t like the way it looked so I added Peeled Paint Distress Ink. Still wasn’t loving the chalk so then I went back in with V91 around the entire background. Then I added swirls with my colorless blender. It even worked over the Distress ink so how cool was that?
Here’s my colors:

My papers are from Wild Rose Studio Faded Florals paper pack. I also stamped this time with Memento in Rich Cocoa Brown.
Thanks so much for looking! Come back every day for more inspiration from the rest of our amazing team : )

Gorjuss – Puddles of Love

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Dana here, and I know I always say “I had a lot of fun with this card” but it’s so true!! Look at this Gorjuss stamp called Puddles of Love:

I thought I would have a little play with trying to actually color a water puddle and rain drops instead of adding them with glossy accents. Here’s a close up:

The raindrops were mostly done with my colorless blender and then I added a little shadow underneath. I was so inspired by these amazing papers from the Wild Rose Studio Summer Fiesta pack!   The sky was airbrushed with C1. I drew my sidewalk with a black copic multiliner.  My sentiment is from SP and Company.   The outside edge of my Designer paper was grunged with Copic Opaque just using my finger.
That’s all for me today but I hope I’ll get to see your creations in our challenge this week : )

TGF – Blush Bonnie

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Dana here and all I can say about this stamp is wow! I mean, seriously…. WOW!~

Meet Blush Bonnie from The Greeting Farm . She was so much fun to color! I knew I wanted her to match these amazing papers and brads from Wild Rose Studio.  I went with oranges for her dress, sock and shoes and I really like how she turned out.  I used Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade to add some orange to the “Thinking of You” (which comes with the image) and also to some of my flowers.
 Here’s a close up:

Here’s the colors I used to color her:

I should’ve crossed off YR02. It’s so close to YR65 that I didn’t bother using it.  You can see how I do that halo effect around my images here. This time I used V93 and V91 instead of the blues and went pretty heavy with the colorless blender to give it that blotchy look.  I am really loving V95, V93 and V91 for shadowing atm (at the moment). They are very grayed down purples and I am finding them perfect for shadows. Love them!!
I used Copic Opaque around the edge of the striped panel. I also used it with my stylus to put the dots around the scalloped die cut.  The other unsung heroes of every card I make is my Memento Ink and my X-Press It tape and papers.
Don’t forget to play play along in our challenge and to join us on Facebook : )

Tutti Cuti – We Love the Rain!

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Dana here and I cannot wait to show you these cuties!! This in We Love the Rain from Tutti Cuti:

Aren’t they sweet??  First I stamped them with Memento Ink on X-Press It Blending Card before coloring with my copics.  Here’s the colors I used:

The sentiment is from SP & Company Rain Boots.  Here’s a few close ups:

How fun to color two girls completely different!! I used BG0000, BG000 and C1 to create the clouds.  You can see how I create clouds here.  After I got the clouds blocked in I added some dots with a stamp from my stash using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China. I added Glossy Accents to random “rain drops”. You can see that better in this shot and how their little umbrellas are paper pieced with Wild Rose Studio Girly Polka Dot papers:

The white grunge around the outside of the blue checked paper and all of the dots were done with Copic Opaque. I love this stuff!! It covers so much better than white acrylic paint.
I hope you will join us for our red, white and blue challenge this week!

Hugs~
