Coloring With Hikka! Week 44

Written by Hikka. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tips & Tricks, Tutorials

The fat unicorn returns. :U AKA, I’m lazy at the moment, and didn’t wanna work on print things. So you get this doodle instead.

Drawn on X-Press paper and inked with Copic Pen 0.3 Color Set and colored with ShinHan Touch Twin Brush marker.

And also for more randomness, I wanted to give stippling a go with markers. This might turn out weird or really awesome, LET’S FIND OUT

Glass first, using a mix of RP138, RP198 and RP7 I of course will layer my dots lightest to darkest starting with RP138 then a layer of RP198 and RP7 at the bottom of the glass. The foam is colored with RP137, RP9, RP17 and I follow the same sort of idea, although the darkest parts here are closer to the unicorn, so I don’t blend too much with what’s in the glass. The rest of the glass is done with BG1 and BG3 for a bit of shading. Which is also on the horn and hooves of the unicorn. :B

Onto the fruits and stuff! Colors being R8, R10, R3, GY166, GY48 and GY47 and again, followin’ the same sort of rule of thumb. Though with the parts that go behind the glass will be far lighter.

Onto the unicorn! P145, P146, P83 (mane) and B171 though I decided to fade the dark from the top down of the mane and the wings the darkest is closer to the unicorn and goes lighter as it goes out.

And now a bit of Copic Opaque White done much in the same fashion. :B

It’s A Bootastic Birthday!

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi Crafters! It’s Valerie here today, and I’ll be the first to tell you that sometimes Life gets so insanely busy, that sometimes I just need to whip out a card in a jiffy 😉 Well, this is one of those times; only the card was not necessary right now, but the project for MarkerPop! was! 😉 But with awesome products like these stamp sets from Mama Elephant, it wasn’t a problem at all!

Today I’m using 3 of the Latest and Greatest stamp sets & dies from Mama Elephant:

I created a birthday card for someone who has a Birthday on Halloween! Could you imagine how fun that would be?!

MarkerPop! - Mama Elephant

I stamped everything in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It Blending Card Paper. And all the images are colored with Copic Sketch markers:

  • Kitty: T2, T4, T6 / Witch Hat: Y08
  • Cupcake Frosting: BV01, BV02, BV04 / Sprinkles: G24
  • Yellow Bow: Y02, Y08

MarkerPop! - Mama ElephantThe sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh:

I added some clear sparkle with my Zig Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen. The dotted lines following the card’s scalloped edges is the Copic Multiliner pen.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Crafting!

Valerie

If you aren’t familiar with them, here’s a little info for you.

We are a small home based business, in Michigan. We pride ourselves in quality and value. I am a perfectionist, if it is not quality, I will not offer it. I started off selling D.O.T.S back in the 90’s as a demonstrator, then opened up our first company in 1999, and started up “Designs, Ink’d.” we sold our business in 2004/2005 due to health and family issues. Missing the love of the business and my are children older now, we started up Sweet Pea Stamps in April 2009.
We have two of our original artists plus have added my brother-in-law and niece and have recently added two more. We will be starting off small but I am sure that you will love what we have to offer in the future.

Thinking of You!

Toby With Roses
Hello to all my friends in cyber-land!   Marie here and I too am making my first MarkerPop post!  You can read about what Samantha has to say about our new direction HERE.    We are all very excited to start our new venture  and for the opportunity to try new supplies and techniques.   The most exciting thing for me is that this will provide more affordable supplies so more people can enjoy the wonderful experience of using alcohol ink markers and other goodies.
I used a cute little image by Milton & Co (Wild Rose Studios) called Toby With Roses.  The technique I used was a stippling technique to create fur.   I also used a colorless blender to enhance the texture.
Copics:
Roses/Bow: R20, R22, R24, R59
Background:  B0000, B000 and R20
I love to play with various backgrounds.
I made swirls with white ink and created muted colored hearts.
I layered my card and applied hand quilled roses and leaves.
Thank you for joining me today.
