Happy Dance!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello, hello!  It is Lisa here today and I have a happy little card that’s sure to make anyone’s Birthday even brighter!  This card features the new Winnie and Walter Happy Dance Stamp Set and the Concord & 9th Sunshine Turnabout Stamp Set

This was my first time using one of the Concord & 9th’s Turnabout sets, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was!  I do suggest that you visit their video on how to mark the center of your set and how to create your own template too.  Once I had done these myself I used bright Memento Colored inks all the way around.  I then set this panel to the side.

Next, I worked on my second panel by stamping this happy little guy in the middle and the sentiment from the Happy Dance Stamp Set with Memento Ink.  To color my bear in I used a mix of Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in Warm Beige and Saddle Brown.  I decided to go over the edges of this panel with Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet and Broken China.

At this point I still felt like there was something missing so I decided to stamp, color and cut some of the streamers to add to the panel.  After these were adhered to the front of the base I finished the card off with a few colorful sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  And don’t forget to join our challenges and our current giveaway!

Coloring on Vellum with Copics

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I’m popping in to share my latest obsession… coloring on vellum.  I LOVE it!  I love the look of heat embossing and colored images, but when you are coloring with Alcohol markers you have to be very careful not to damage the tips of your marker by accidentally touching the embossed areas.  This is where the vellum comes into play.  I am able to heat emboss my images any color I would like, and then I am able to color on the back side of the vellum. And the results are fantastic…

Copic Markers Used: Y15, Y17, B05, B12, RV25, Stamp Set: ConCord & 9th Hello Lovely

If you use a thick enough vellum, as I have done here, you are able to hide your adhesive easily behind the larger embossed areas.  I liked the dimension that was created using one adhesive in the center of the largest flower, so I left it that way.  I finished the card with a black panel and bright sequins.

Just A Little Note…

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you today, and while Valentine’s Day has come and gone don’t start putting those Valentine sets away just yet!  I’m hoping to show you how a little switch of colors and a different sentiment can really open those “Valentine” sets up for more possibilities…

To create this card I started by stamping my little hedge hog images onto Neenah Solar White Card stock.  These characters are from the Penny Black Furry Hugs Stamp Set.  I then colored them in with Copic® Markers (E00, E21, C3, R20, R22, R29, YG03), and fussy cut them before setting them off to the side.

While the images themselves still seem lovey, I went through some of my older paper pads and tried to find colors to off set that theme.  When I found the blue hearts and the purple I thought it would be a perfect fit.  I chose the Waffle Flower Lacy Layers Die Set to cut my blue heart panel.  I then added a strip of lined paper over this and all of it was adhered to the purple panel onto the front of my card.  The other key to this card was the sentiment.  This one is from the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Stamp Set, and I stamped it using Lawn Fawn’s Deep Sea Ink Pad.

It’s always fun to come up for more uses of our supplies, bigger bang for our buck right?

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

For You: A Mix of Old and New

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello MarkerPOP fans! It’s Lisa here with you today and I hope you were able to get your orders in for the new CHA products available in the store, so much goodness to choose from! Anywho, today I’m here sharing a card using new products from Penny Black and My Favorite Things, mixed with an older Concord & 9th Set…

To create this card I started by stamping the sweet little hedge hog, from the Penny Black Furry Hugs Stamp Set, onto a panel of Neenah Solar White Card stock. I decided to color him with my Copic® Markers (Hedge hog: E50, E00, C1, C3, R20, Cupcake: R20, R22, RV10, RV23, RV25, V12, V15, O) before masking him off to add my background colors with Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass). I then created my own sentiment with the Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script Stamp Set and Memento Dye Ink in Rose Bud. Next I die cut the bottom edge with the new My Favorite Things Stitch Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die Set. At this point I added a few droplets of water to the grass and sky for some interest and Nuvo Glitter Drops to the heart on the Cupcake in White Blizzard.

I finished the panel with a few Pretty Pink Posh Floral Sequins. When I came across an older piece of patterned paper that matched my colors I used it along the bottom part of my card base. And to bring it all together I tied the top off with a twine bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure you check out all of the new goodies in the shop!
