With Sympathy

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

{Happy Thursday, Crafters! Valerie here, and I know you’ll all know what I’m talking about here… Life has been utterly crazy for me! With surgery (and the recovery from it), starting a new full-time job while still working the old part-time job, my son’s Prom, AND a death in the family, things have been quite crazy for me. SO, with that said, I apologize for not having a post done for today! HOWEVER, I had this one ready to go on my blog for another day, so I decided to pull it over here to the MarkerPop blog, instead, because I think we can all understand my situation, right?!}

I had to make 2 completely different cards yesterday; one for my friends who are Expecting (YAY!!), and one for my Aunt & Uncle who unexpectedly lost their daughter, my cousin; talk about complete opposites. And actually, you could say that the card making was actually a therapy for me, as I’m grieving my wonderful cousin that we have lost way too soon.

Let’s start with the happy card! For this one, I pulled out a sweet old Lawn Fawn set, Plus One, and it’s coordinating die set. All the other dies used for this card are also Lawn Fawn; you can see them in the supply list at the end. I colored the image with Copic Sketch markers. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh cupped sequins: Cornflower 4mm & Pink Blush 6mm.

For my condolences card, I pulled out a favorite Altenew set of mine, Extra Special. It stamps beautifully, and the image is just so pretty. I stamped the purples with the inks from Altenew’s Shades of Purple ink set. The greens are from Altenew’s Tropical Forest ink set.

Thanks for stopping by, and hug your loved one real tight <3

It’s A Boy!: Use Copics For Dimension on Solid Stamped Images

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you today and I have a fun shaker card along with some tips to share with you today.  I have to admit when I first saw the WPlus9 Happy Gang Stamp set I was gushing over the cuteness, and feeling timid over the solid stamped images within the set.  Often times I find myself shying away from the stamp sets that are full of solid images, because I’m not quite sure what to do with them.  But when I kept looking at the super cute faces in this set I thought to myself, enough is enough!  So I put on my big girl pants, stamped some images and got to work.  Here is what I came up with…

And I’m so glad I did, cause this is too cute!  Plus I learned a little something myself: Copic® Markers can do anything!  ( Ok, well not literally, but they sure did help me get over my solid image fear! )  I stamped a few more of these dogs to show you how I used my Copic® Markers to enhance this already adorable image…

Colors Used: C0, C1, C3

By using matching Copic Colors to my Memento Dye Ink (London Fog) I was able to add depth, highlights and details to his cute little body and face.  I also used my White Gel Pen to add in eyes and a highlight on his nose.  Once I had tried this technique on the dog I used it on my balloons as well using Memento Dye Ink in Summer Sky and Copic Markers: B12, B32.  Now remember if you are going to use your Copic® Markers over a stamped image make sure you are using an ink that works with your markers as I did here with the Memento Dy Inks.

Other Copic Markers used include: G40, G43 for the grass, and R20 for his cheeks.  I then turned my stamped scene into a shaker card with the My Favorite Things STAX Stitched Mini Scallop Oval Set, some acetate, Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, and Lawn Fawn Paper Pack: Beachside.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope I’ve encouraged you to look at your solid images in a new way!

Happy Crafting!

Little Bundle

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi Crafters! Valerie here! Remember those New Neighbors of mine?! Well, guess what?! Now they’re Expecting (their first!)!! Yup, there’s a new baby on the way, so what did I just HAVE to do?? You guessed it – a CARD! And this gave me the PERFECT reason to finally order Lawn Fawn’s Little Bundle set!

This cute card features these Lawn Fawn goodies:

Lawn Fawn stamps & dies & ink, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016}

I made this card a slider card! Here’s a video by Lawn Fawn on how to create one of these:

Lawn Fawn stamps & dies & ink, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016}

All of the images are stamped using my Mini Misti, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press IT Blending Card paper, and colored with my Copics (colors listed at end).

Lawn Fawn stamps & dies & ink, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016}

The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh: 6mm Cupped Lime Sorbet and 4mm Cupped Sparkling Clear. I painted Zig Clear Wink of Stella onto the onesie for some sparkle.

Thanks for much for visiting today! Have a great Monday, a wonderful week, and Happy Crafting!

Bunch of Balloons

Written by Monica Edwards. Posted in 3D, Anything But a Card, Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi everyone, Monica here sharing a scalloped mini album that I made as a gift to put in a gift basket for my friend who is having a baby girl.  I used this super cute Wild Rose Studio Bunch of Balloons

This mini measures about 3.5×3.5 perfect for a gift basket. The stamps is just too adorable; he is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on X-press It Blending Card paper

Elephant: CG8
Balloons: YG3, PK3, and BL3

 I added some stickers and sticker sentiments to the inside; I didnt want to overload the book with so many add-ons so there was more room for pictures

I hope everyone enjoyed my post for today, and thanks for stopping by the blog

Don’t forget to check out the MarkerPop challenge: Anything Goes; it ends on Sunday
