Glassy Card

Written by Samantha Peyton. Posted in Uncategorized

HIYA! Wanda signing in with my weekly post for the iCopic Blog! I colored this image quite a while ago and it is one that I use as an example in my Copic classes. I finally turned it into a card! A shabby, vintagey card! I think it nicely illustrates a different way to use your Copic Markers to achieve a soft, glassy feel.

A
Here are the colors that I used – you can see I used very light shades in four different color families. When coloring, I left a lot of white space in the center of the bottles. I did this so that the images would appear see through, just like glass. I used my colorless blender pen extensively to push the color out the back of the paper (see pic below) so that just a very small amount of color was left.

Here is the back side of my image. See that there is more color on the back than on the front!? That is because I kept using my blender pen over and over until I got the effect I wanted.

Here is a close up of the coloring of the bottles…

I hope you will give this new technique a try with your markers! Have a wonderful week…until I see you again!

Valentine’s Angel ~

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi friends!  It’s Alyssa here with a card that’s been bouncing around my brain for a couple weeks now.  I’ve been wanting to try the technique of coloring in monochromatic shades, so I chose to color a black and white angel.
This is the angel from The Greeting Farm’s Naughty or Nice set.  She’s colored in black and white monochromatic tones using all my cool gray Copics and just a little black in her hair.  Her skin is colored with C3 in the most deeply shaded areas, C1 right up next to and flicking away from the C3 to blend, and the Colorless blender to pull it all together.  Her hair is C5, C7, C9 and just a bit of black in the darkest areas.

The bow is tied in three loops with the Bow Easy – I don’t love the little tool, but it’s a good $5 purchase. I couldn’t have made that bow without it!  The *button* is actually paper.  I punched a heart out, punched out the button holes and covered it with Glossy Accents.  Once it was dry, I tied a little bow with black embroidery floss and added it on top of the red bow with a glue dot.

The inside is finished off with a bit of the embossed and sanded paper, a beautiful scripty font sentiment and a few red hearts to pull the red inside.  Thanks again for stopping by and for all your sweet comments!!  I hope you all have a fantabulous weekend!  :o) lyss
