Lawn Fawn Magnets ~

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi iCopic friends!  Alyssa here!  The iCopic Weekly Challenge #40 is Anything But a Card!  I was inspired by this challenge to make a little game set for my son.  We’ll be taking a road trip later this summer to go visit my in-laws in Missouri, so I’ll need some things to pass the time with my little guy.  I have some magnet sheets in my stash that I use for various things – mainly for storage cards for my die cuts.  The back of the magnet sheet is white paper… light bulb moment!  I’ve seen cookie sheet calendars in the past, but I thought maybe I could make my son a set of magnets to play with in the car!

I chose to use the adorable Lawn Fawn Critters in the Forest clear acrylic set.  I took all of the image stamps in the set and put them on my largest stamping block.  Instead of wasting my nice Copic paper, I stamped directly on the back of the magnet sheet and colored everything up with my markers.

Once they were all colored up and cut out, I rimmed the edges with a black marker to finish them off!  Easy!  Now we can make up funny little stories with them while we’re driving through corn fields as far as the eye can see!  lol
Don’t forget!  Copic prices increase on Monday!!!  Get your orders in now!

Hope you’re inspired to play along with our challenge this week!  One random winner will get their choice of 4 Copic Ciao markers!  Have a super weekend!!  :o) lyss

Sweets Fergus ~

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi iCopic fans!  Alyssa here with another uber cutie from the Wild Rose Studio stamps line.  I warned you a couple of weeks ago that I couldn’t get enough of Fergus!  Lol  Last week I placed an order for Copics and re-inkers (before the price goes up on Monday!!) and couldn’t resist adding this little guy (Fergus with Cupcake) to my basket.  He’s so dang cute – perfect for first birthdays or for the little monsters in your life!!
I chose my designer paper  – My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist – and my layout first – July’s Sketch for You to Try.  Little Fergus is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored to match the green stars.   His skin is made to look more scaly with dots everywhere.  The cupcake has a fun paper pieced wrapper and liquid pearls for icing.  The gumdrop on top is a candy dot.  Fun, dimensional and good enough to eat!
You still have a couple of days to play along with iCopic’s Weekly Challenge – a project other than a card.  Have a super weekend friends!!  :o) lyss

Grandma Tag

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi everyone, Kelli here!  This weeks challenge is to make “anything but a card”, which I think is SO much fun because it gets me out of my comfort zone.  I am almost strictly a card maker, so it’s always nice to try something else!  Check out this post to play along!

I made a tag that can be given to a Grandma (like I made) or any other lovely lady in your life, all you have to do is change the sentiment!  I used the For Every Woman stamp set by SP & Company for both the main image and the ‘Grandma’ sentiment.  I stamped my image on the X-Press It Blending Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
For the flower petals I used Copics: R22, R20 and 0 (Colorless Blender), for the center: Y35, Y23 and Y11, for the stem: G24, G21, G20, and for the vase: B21 and B0000.  In the center I also used my Spica Glitter Pen in clear, even though it’s hard to tell in the pics.
The background paper is from the Faded Florals 6×6 paper pad by Wild Rose Studio.

I couldn’t find a good way to loop the ribbon through the hole in the top of the tag, so I brought out my trusty Divine Baker’s Twine in Oyster and tied all of the ends together in a bow!

For some added interest I used Glossy Accents on the vase so it would look more like glass.

Here is the ‘Grandma’ sentiment which I stamped in gray and then cut and folded into a little banner.  It’s very faint, but I also stamped the other flower from the For Every Woman stamp set in yellow behind the sentiment.  I finished the whole thing off with some adhesive backed pearls and white gel pen stitch lines.
Thanks for looking!  🙂
