Christmas penguins!

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi everyone, Kelli here!  Can you believe that I have a Christmas card to share with you today.  Only 4 months left, phew how time flies!  I stamped the adorable Christmas Cuddles stamp by Wild Rose Studio in MementoTuxedo Black ink.

I can’t get enough of these cute little guys, they are absolutely adorable!  I colored their hats with Copics: R29, R27, R24 and R22.  For the sparkly white parts, I first used B0000 around the edges to give it a little more shading and then put fine clear glitter over the top with a 2-way glue pen.  For the darker parts of their bodies I used C9, C7 and C5.  For the lighter part I used Y21, Y000 and a lot of 0 (Colorless Blender) to help smooth it out because it’s really only supposed to be somewhat of a shadow.  Their beaks and feet are Y35, Y23 and Y11.  For the cheeks I just tapped a q-tip in some lighter pink ink and dabbed it on.

Here you can see the variety of patterned papers I used.  I was so excited to use some of the awesome Christmas papers!  The pretty, sparkly ornaments (that match the penguins’ hats) is from the First EditionFestive Treats paper pad.  I think it’s great when papers have that little extra something, either embossing, glitter, flocking…you name it, I love it!  🙂

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for our blog hop!!!
Thanks for stopping by!  🙂

TGF – Creeper Crew Monday

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Happy Wednesday to all my copic crafters!! Have you been enjoying your week? I have been! You know how every once in awhile it’s like a fire’s been reignited for the ol’ mojo? I feel like I’ve got mojo to spare so for all of ya’s feeling a little, you know, just “eh”… let’s get excited!!! Get out those copics, get some rubbah and let’s make some pretty stuff!
Even though I’ve colored this image before, using new colors made her feel like a brand new stamp to me. Here’s Creeper Crew Monday from The Greeting Farm:

I would’ve never have gone to this color palette but I got my inspiration from the gorgeous papers by Authentique and I really like how it turned out! Even those little touches of pink were perfect for her pink tipped hair : ) Here’s a close up:

Does this girl lack attitude? I almost thought about using the sentiment “As if..” but didn’t know if people still said that.. it’s kinda 80’s or maybe it was the 90’s.. lol! What I did use for the sentiment I pieced together from both the Amy R Sassy Sentiments set (DIVA)  and Lawn Fawn’s Sophies Sentiments  (love you) onto a ticket stamp from my stash and I think it works pretty good.
Here’s the copic colors I used:

The other stand by’s are my Memento Ink, X-Press It adhesive tape and Tim Holtz Distress Inks (for this card I used Walnut Stain). I seriously don’t know if I can make a card without those three : )

Well, that’s all from me for today but don’t forget to come back on Friday to join us for our blog hop!! My first one as part of this team and I am really excited! Also, I hope to see you in the challenge this week and how about uploading some of your copic projects to our Facebook page?  That’s a great place to add anything you are working on that may not fit this weeks challenge.
Hugs~

Tuesday Tips & Tricks – Quick & Easy Card Making

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi Friends! It’s Rachel here with this week’s Tuesday Tips and Tricks. Well it may only be August, but the holiday season will be here before you know it. It never fails every year I find myself with some last minute gift giving to do and even worse I also find I am short on cards. This year I found the perfect solution with these wonderful new 6×6 papers available at iCopic. Have you seen this wonderful line of 6×6 paper pads by First Edition? I immediately fell in love with them and wanted to create something with them right away. I was blown away not only with the quality of the paper but with the wonderful prints too. The Festive Treats Paper Pack Pad had me at Gingerbread, but it was this adorable single sheet of glittery patterned paper that first caught my eye. The sheet contained 4 single images that were easily cut down into 3″x3″ squares leaving 4 perfect main images for card making. So today I am bringing you my trick for quick and easy card making featuring patterned papers.

These cards came together so quickly I couldn’t wait to share them with you. To get started I decided on a simple design and applied it to all 4 cards. I matted each 3″ square piece of patterned paper with either a red or green cardstock mat. Then I cut a 4″ square layering panel in the opposite color for each matted image and adhered the image to the panel with some adhesive. I loved the Homespun look of the images, so I embellished on the feel of the images by adding some stitching around them. I finished off the card by adding ribbon and adhering it to the card base with foam tape. So quick and easy!

I hope you enjoyed today’s feature and be sure to drop by the iCopic store to see the wonderful selection of patterned papers they carry. I am sure you will want to keep some on hand for your last minute card making.

Thanks for visiting and Have a Fabulous Day!

I went with the Cheeky Beach image from The Greeting Farm.  I colored her with the Copics below:

I matched it up with papers from the Wild Rose Studio Kalahari Dreams Paper Pack.

And Samantha created an orange and blue card using Baseball Luka from La-La Land Crafts, a sentiment from the SP and Company Bold Sentiments I stamp set, and some orange Divine Twine.
