The Country in Me….

Written by Tracy Valure. Posted in Get to Know the DT

Hello! Tracy here today!  The last week of the month is always dedicated to you all getting to know US a little better.  So I was trying to come up with something to enlighten you on me.  I’m rather boring, for the most part. I do have my moments!!   Like when I go out with friends or to a concert. This year I have went to a handful of concerts and have already started looking at the lineup for next year.

I love all sorts of music. I listen to Pop, Rap, R&B, Alternative, Country…you name it.  My favorite concerts to go to are Country concerts. I’m sorry but you can’t beat them! It’s a huge party. Starts out with tailgaiting and ends with dancing – singing fun!

In the last year I have totally become a Luke Bryan junkie. I can’t get enough of him!! I have seen him twice in the last couple of months and I am already looking at the upcoming dates to see him again.

For Christmas my husband bought me 2 tickets to see Luke in Orlando. He does not like country music at all. So I held a contest on my FB page to see who was worthy of going with me! hehe  My sister kept posting little things about how awesome I am and how I am such a wonderful sister…blah blah blah. She made this photo of the “3” of us together!

Luke1

Then she changed her profile pictures to the photos of us at concerts. This went on for the last few weeks! It was great and nobody stood a chance against her! She was definitely getting my vote to go with me! So we went this past Saturday  and Luke did not let us down!

luke2Here is me getting ready for my concert! Yee haw!

Next concert for us will be Kenny Chesney! Can’t wait…I love his music. You guys have a great day and until I see you again………….

A few of my favorite recipes!

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Get to Know the DT

Hi everyone, Kelli here! I’ve shared a couple of my favorite slow cooker recipes with you before but today I wanted to share some more of my favorite recipes. I’ve made most of these multiple times and while not completely healthy, they are of course, delicious, hehe.  These are not my own recipes.  The link to where I found the photo and the recipe are below each photo.

What are some of your favorite recipes?

Spicy Chipotle Turkey Burgers
SpicyTurkeyChipotleBurgers
Photo and recipe found HERE.

My husband and I love spicy things so these are popular in our household!  I pretty much follow the recipe exactly but I add two Chipotle Chilies instead of one.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs
RosemaryRanchChickenKabobs
Photo and recipe found HERE.

I’ve made these kabobs exactly by the recipe and they come out great but I’ve also tried cooking them a couple other ways as well.  I have used a grill pan lined with foil on the grill so that they cook in the marinade.  I think this makes them come out a little more juicy but they definitely don’t have those tasty grill marks.  I’ve also cooked them in a baking pan lined with foil in the oven at about 400* for 15-20 minutes.  If you don’t have fresh rosemary you can substitute dry (just use less) but if you can, I would try to go with fresh.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs
ItalianSpaghettiSaucewithMeatballs
Photo and recipe found HERE.

We used to eat spaghetti sauce from a jar but I thought it would be neat to try and make my own.  Ever since making this, I don’t think I can go back to jarred sauce!  It’s really simple and the meatballs are also really good!  I make this almost exactly like the recipe but I use Italian Breadcrumbs in the meatballs instead of regular and I use crushed tomatoes in the sauce instead of whole.  Oh, and I also add a little extra Parmesan Cheese to the meatballs.

Crock Pot Salsa Chicken
CrockPotSalsaChicken
Photo and recipe found HERE.

I want to start off by saying that the sodium level in this dish is pretty high, but I think it’s worth at least trying if you’re not watching your sodium intake.  I only changed one thing and that was using Cream of Celery soup instead of Cream of Chicken.  I’m not a big fan of the chunks in the Cream of Chicken soup, lol.  We ate it in tortillas like a taco (my husband’s request, lol) but I think it would be even better over rice like the recipe says.

Peanut Butter Mug Cake
PeanutButterMugCake
Photo and recipe found HERE.

Have you ever had a craving for something sweet at night but didn’t want to take the time to make a big batch of something.  I think this is perfect for those times!  I have tried mug cakes before and never been impressed, but this one was pretty amazing!  I followed everything exactly, yum!  If you have the regular smaller sized coffee cups definitely split this into two of them!  I did and it still came to the top in both when it cooked.  I will definitely be making this more in the future.

The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie
PerfectChocolateChipCookie
Photo and recipe found HERE.

Now this one, I think is my favorite of all that I posted.  I love to bake and have been on a hunt for the best chocolate chip cookie.  The link under the photo is actually more of a lot of tips along with a recipe that I followed pretty closely.  It taught me a lot of things and helped me perfect the cookie!!!  I don’t know if I’ll really ever try another chocolate chip cookie recipe again.  I have to say that I didn’t beat the ingredients quite as long as the recipe said to, but they still came out amazing.  Oh, and I also baked them right away without letting them sit in the fridge, oops.  I’m not good at waiting.  🙂

Hello and welcome to “freebie” Wednesday.   What does that mean?   It means  the members of the design team take turns sharing a little about themselves or about  an interest they may have other than cards.

I want to share a new passion of mine.   I have recently purchased a Silhouette Cameo and   I am in LOVE!

Isn’t she sweet?  My heart goes pitter patter every time I look at this baby!

The Silhouette Cameo is an electronic cutting machine that has a 12 inch cutting mat.
I really like this becaue I can create 3-D projects that are large enough  to hold a lot of goodies and the preciion cuts are unbelievable!

I purchased the Delux Software (on sale) last week and have been enjoying looking at all
the gorgeous SVG files that I can now cut.

I really love the fact that there are over a thousand  downloadable images to choose from.   Yes – I want them all!

I know I am going to be finding ways to use my new Cameo for many of my MarkerPOP posts.

I visited many of our challenge entries yesterday  and I must say – you are all amazing!

I love the entries we have so far!   Challenge # 15 (Pretty In Pink) ends 2/3.     I hope to see your entry  there!

I hope you have a wonderful, safe   and crafty week.
