Just Brushing Up….

brushes

Happy mid-week everyone!!!  I don’t know about you but for me this week is draggin!!!  Hopefully my little “crafty home decor” will cheer you some though.  😉

I got this idea awhile back from somewhere on the web and I’m sorry I can’t direct you to where it was, but hey… I’m old… I can’t remember anything if it’s not written down. LOL  But now, you can just see it here and create away!! 🙂

The idea here is… old paint brushes.  Yep… old!  I don’t care i there is paint dried on them..  If the brush is mangled or even missing some, it doesn’t matter.  I’m going to cover it all and make it purrrrtyyy!! LOL

To decorate these brushes, I took the old brush, covered them in acrylic paint and set aside to try.  Then I used a few tulip stamps that I colored with my Copic markers after stamping them on some Cryogen White paper.  I also used the same paper to punch out a “fence” border and add around the brush before cuttnig out my flowers and adding them behind it.  A little ribbon and some bling finish up my brushes.

I made these for my dad who just built a really “swanky” garage for himself since he’s retired now.  It’s so pretty, I’d never seen a PRETTY garage.. but this one is.  He has a huge love for tulips and I thought these would be a perfect little gift for him to bring a bit of sunshine in and make that “swanky garage” a bit “fresh”. LOL

Brush2

This brush I created for my sister.  Using colors from her home office and a couple little swirls of crystals.  Just a small way to brighten her room and remind her I think of her often.

There are so many ways you could decorate these brushes and I have a few more that I plan on playing with for Christmas this year.  The possibilities are endless and what a unique gift for someone who is hard to buy for.  Just think of their favorite things or hobby’s and decorate it up to suit their likings.

I hope this gives you a little inspiration as to what else you can use your crafting and paper creating talents on.  I really enjoyed making them and they are super fast.  Other than waiting for the paint on the brushes to dry, it doesn’t have a TON of space to cover, but an accent here and there.  Give it a try!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll see you next time.  *HUGS*

Wee Stamps, Sweet Sparkle top

Good morning, Marlena here today sharing with you a project using the Wee Stamp image, Sweet Sparkle.  This is a great image to color and use in a project and I decided to use a new color combination as well that I found on Pinterest, of course.  It’s a nice dark Crimson color combination and I love dark color combos.  Copic Markers look so vibrant in dark colors.
