Witches and Spiders and Bugs – Oh My!

Written by Marie Gamber. Posted in 3D

Welcome to all our crafty friends out there!   Marie here and I want to share a little Halloween treat I will be giving out to a few of the special little witches that come to my door on Halloween this year.    I don’t know about you but it seems that every year I would go through my closets and trunks to find that perfect witch costume.   I don’t know why – but I loved dressing as a witch!

Well,  the Gill Robert’s Collection from SP & Company has the most adorable witch  stamp called GR Hallowwen Girl.   She has the most adorable face! She must be a very good witch with a sweet face like that!

Close up of my work in progress.

I used Copic alcohol ink markers – Sketch for this project.
Skin tones:  E50, E51, E53, E11, E000, R20
Hair:  E99, E97, YR 24 and YR20
Hat and Robe: C3, C5, C7, C9, R24, R22, R24
Pumpkin: YR 24, YR20, YR 24, YR27  (Y00 for the inside)
Cat with Scarf:  C2, C3, C5, R4, R22, R20
Background: C1, BG10, Colorless Blender, Opaque White Ink
Broom  E30, E33, E35, E47, YR 20, YR24

Technique
I drained a bottle of water.
I allowed the inside of the bottle to fully dry.
I cut a flap in the side of the bottle to allow me to slip miniature candies into the bottle
The bottle was then stuffed with Halloween paper trim.
The flap was sealed with tape .
My matted focal image was adhered to the bottle to allow the flap to be consea;ed

This technique can also be used with back to school themes,
using pencils, pens and note paper,
erasers and any other school supplies can be used to fill the bottle.

I hope you have a great week and stop back soon to see what our Design Team is up to!

Happy Mail!

Written by Michelle Pearson. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

mp 9.11.13.1Happy Mail!  I just had to grab up this Whiff of Joy image when I saw it hit the store!  I get lots of *Happy Mail* at my house…my kids always tell me I have it when I get some package in the mail!

I colored my image with Copic Markers:  T4, T2, C1, BV000, G20, YR24, Y21, Y32, E51, E42, E41, E02, E00.

mp 9.11.13.2Check out the fun polka dots on her dress!  …and that bakers twine is a simple and fun embellishment on the card!

mp 9.11.13.3Another fun thing to try on your cards is to just randomly cut shapes.  This chick needed some sky..so I cut out some free form clouds and hit their edges with a bit of sandpaper.  The heart was a punch, but I hit the edges of that with sand paper too…and added a touch of red glitter to the heart!

Papers come from Authentique’s Delightful Bundle!

So tell me…do you get Happy Mail at your house?!

tiddly

Tiddly Inks offers digital stamps and digital papers, created by Christy Croll. Christy is a self-trained illustrator who likes simple, cute and quirky drawings with a sense of humor. She draws what amuses her, which means some days it is quirky and cute and other days it is a bit of a twisted gothic feel.

Challenge #30

THE CHALLENGE:  Anything Goes
Just use your Copics or ShinHan markers on a project!

You may play along with other challenges, but excessive challenge pile-ons (more than 10) will result in disqualification for our amazing prize. As always, have fun creating!

We are continuing our comments contest as well. Leave a comment on one or more blog posts between now and when our challenge winners are announced for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate!

Tina made this beautiful card using the Tiddly Inks – Floating By stamp set.  Could that mermaid get any sweeter?  She stamped her in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink on Cryogen White paper and then colored her with her Copics.  I love how the blue on the background and pearl accents give this card such an oceany feel.
