Uptown Girl – Faith the Fairy

SB, Uptown Girl, Faith the Fairy top

Hi everyone. Marlena here sharing a project using the fabulous image by Stamping Bella, Uptown Girl, Faith the Fairy.  I colored this image using my copic markers, of course, and I used holiday colors.  Now that Halloween has come and gone Christmas is sure to be here before you know it.  That’s the way it always works, isn’t it.  Anyway, I have slowly been trying to get a jump on my holiday projects and this can be added to that list.

The colors I used on her dress are R59, R29, R24, R22, R20.    Her skin is E13, E11, E01, E000, E0000.  The sentiment comes with the stamp set.

Write your way….

Hi everyone!  Tina here with a Freebie post.. “Get to know the DT”.  Today I’d like to share with you all about this little pink book.  Yup… that’s it…. the plain looking but oh so awesome book.

This is my newest way to journal.  It’s actually a Moleskine Large Volant book.  I LOVE Moleskine books because the paper is so smooth and nice to write on with a fountain pen.  These books are very thin but packed with pages!! When you purchase them… they come in stets of two similar colors.  Example… I purchased the pinks.

Basically.. a light pink and a darker one.  What I love most about these as journals is 1) they are very lightweight and 2) they easily slip into my purse and I can write just about anywhere at any time.

Here is the light pink which I use for my Project Book…. I keep track of things I’m doing in my studio and things I want to accomplish in each room.

And if you think these are kind of boring for a journal… what with all the fancy papers out there and the cool journals with fancy covers… well, think again!  Inside my journal book.. the pages are all plain and totally MINE to decorate and write as I will.

My inside page….

Yep.. that’s Washi Tape there… LOVE LOVE it!!!

And I even throw some on a page now and then……

And maybe even a sticker or two….

I try very hard to journal every day.  I don’t always get it done, but my Moleskine book sits next to my chair and it’s always there so it will remind me to write and if I haven’t, that’s ok too.  What’s important is I can be creative in this book AND write at the same time.  The pages are mine and for what I decide to use them for.  I don’t feel pressure to write… I don’t feel confined to the same old picture that may be printed on a purchased journal.  It’s totally me… my writing, my designs, my every-other day, if I choose journal.  And as I said before… I can easily carry it because it’s so thin and light weight.  When, and if, the urge to write comes, I have it in my purse.  AND with the smallness of it’s size, I know storage will be a breeze when it’s full.

Out of ALL the journals I’ve purchased to write in… I have to say, THIS is the one I’ve enjoyed the most.  Inexpensive, light weight and totally customizable!!  What kind of journals do you like?

Thanks for stopping by and learning a bit more about me and my journaling technique.  Have a great day and stop back tomorrow for more inspiration from the  DT!! *HUGS*
