Aloe!!

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials, Uncategorized, Videos

Happy Tuesday everyone… Holly here today!! I hope you all had a great weekend and didn’t melt too much from the heat. Today I have a Fun cacti card and video using the new Cultivated Cacti set from Newton’s Nook. Their June release is now available in the store. It’s full of Cacti, Cowboys, and more.

I started with a piece of Distress Watercolor paper and then I added some Mustard Seed Distress Ink. Once the panel was dry I die cut it using the MFT Blueprints #27. Then I adhered the panel to a White A2 size card base.

Then I stamped the cacti and the pots using the Mini Misti , Neenah Solar White cardstock, and Lawn Fawn inks in the following colors: Celery Stick, Freshly Cut Grass, Jalapeno, Noble Fir, Peacock, Fish Tank, Blue Jay, Ballet Slippers and Plastic Flamingo. You can see how I created the multi-ink tone on the stamps in the video below.

Once they were dry I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and I adhered them to the card front with some Tape Runner and Foam Tape. I stamped the sentiment using some Blue Jay ink from Lawn Fawn on a piece of Neenah Solar White that I die cut with the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics from MFT. I added a few Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for a little Bling.

Happy Tuesday everyone… I hope you all had a great Holiday weekend. Today I have a new video featuring a card using the Adorable Itty Bitty Welcoming Committee set from Neat & Tangled.

I started with a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and traced the inside of a Stitched Oval Scalloped Edge Frame die from MFT with a pencil. Then I added some Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks with a Paintbrush and some water. Once the area with dry I die cut the panel with the Stitched Rectangle die from the MFT Blueprints 15 die-namics set. Then I adhered the panel to a Turquoise A2 size card base. I added the Scalloped Oval frame which I die cut from some Neenah Solar White card stock. Then I stamped all the images from the Itty Bitty Welcoming Committee set onto a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock using VersaFine Black Ink. I colored the images in with Distress Markers and a paint brush. I used the following Markers:

Tumbled Glass, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Carved Pumpkin, Antiqued Linen, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Pumice Stone and Wild Honey.

Once the images were dry I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and I adhered them to the card front. I stamped the sentiment using the Mini Misti and VersaFine Black Ink. I added some Gold and Clear Wink of Stella to parts of the images. This is a Fun set perfect for all Occasions.

Happy Friday everyone.. Our Watercolor month is coming winding down so be sure to head over to this post to find out how to enter our Giveaway if you haven’t yet. And both of our Bi-Weekly challenges are still open as well. This week’s challenge is all about watercolor florals.

I’ve created a card using the Beautiful Bouquet: Ranunculus set from WPlus9 and Distress Inks to water color with. I have a new video at the end where you can follow along as I create this card.

I stamped the image onto a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper with some VersaMark ink and I heat embossed it using Fool’s Gold embossing powder from WOW! This is a Gorgeous Rose Gold Glitter.

I smooshed several Distress inks: Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, Bundled Sage, Crushed Sapphire, Forest Moss and Weather Wood onto a craft mat creating a palette. Then using a #4 paint brush, I added some clean water and dropped the color into the image. I heat set the image as I went along building up the colors.

I stamped the sentiment from the Mama Elephant set Organic Blooms. I heat set that with some Metallic Brass powder from WOW! I trimmed the sentiment out and adhered it with some foam adhesive. Then I trimmed 1/4″ off the edge of the panel and added it to a top folding A2 size Light Grey card base. I wanted a litter more of the Rose Gold color so I added some Rose Gold sequins.

You can see more details on how I created this in the video below.

Hello

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials, Videos

Hello everyone.. it’s Holly here today with another watercolor card and process video. I’m using the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely  set and some Gansai Tambi Watercolors.

I started by stamping the flower image onto a piece of watercolor paper and then I heat embossed it using some White embossing powder. Then I taped the image panel to a board using some painter’s tape. I added some clear water around the image and then I dropped in some Light Blue using a wet paintbrush. This is the wet on wet technique. Then I heat set the area with my heat tool. I repeated the same process with the rest of the image. Adding in color within each embossed area and drying in between layers.

Once the image was dry I trimmed the panel to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and added it to a top folding Black card base. I stamped Hello from the same set and heat embossed it onto a piece of Black card stock using White embossing powder and trimmed it out with my large scissors. I adhered it to the image with some foam tape. This is a great image to practice watercolor with, it has lots of great large images and it can be embossed.
