Happy Saturday everyone!! Fall is in the air in parts of the East Coast and I’m loving it!!! This is my Favorite time of the year. The Newton’s Nook Designs September Release is now in the shop and the new Shades of Autumn is a must have for all your Fall crafting!!

I started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor Distress card stock and I stamped each of the leaves several times using Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks. I stamped each image into the ink and then I spritzed it lightly with the Distress Sprayer. Then press the image onto the cardstock and let sit for just a few seconds and lift. You will get a different look depending on how much water you add to the stamp.

Once the background images were all stamped I added some more water to move the color a little and dried the panel with my heat tool. I added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges with a Mini Ink Blending tool.  I added a few water splatters and removed the excess with a paper towel to create the Distress look. I wanted some gold so I added a few splatters of Distress Spray Stain in Tarnished Brass. Then I dried the panel and adhered it to the card base.

I created a Banner with the same color cardstock and the MFT Blue Prints #29. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing powder. I adhered it to the side with some foam tape and added some mixed Gold Sequins for a little sparkle. You can save on your favorite Newton’s Nook Designs stamps and dies in the shop now until 9/19.

You can follow along as I create this card in the Video below…

Have a Great weekend!!!

Boo….

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials, Uncategorized, Videos

Happy Friday everyone… Who’s ready for the weekend? Today I have a Cute Halloween card using the Boo set from Waffleflower Crafts. This is another Big Bear and Bird collaboration and they have the sweetest images.

I created a background with some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks and the Cloud Border stencil from My Favorite Things on a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper. I die cut a post it note to create a circle template and created the cloud with some Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. I added some water splatters to the background and dabbed the excess with a paper towel creating the distressed look. Once it was dry I used the retired Blueprints #15 Die-namics from MFT to die cut it the panel.

I stamped all of the images onto some Bristol smooth cardstock using Ranger Archival Black ink and the Mini Misti. Then I colored the images in with Distress Markers in the following colors: Black Soot, Hickory Smoke, Tea Dye, Wilted Violet, Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw, Carved Pumpkin & Spun Sugar. I moved the color around with the Nuvo Aqua Flow Water brushes. I used the coordinating Boo dies to cut the images out and adhered them to the panel with some foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment in the lower corner with some Black ink and adhered the panel to a Black A2 size card base. I wanted a little bit of sparkle so I added some Nuvo drops in White Blizzard to the hat, Bat wings and Ghost cheeks. When using the drops as an accent rather than creating dots, you want to spread it around so it’s just a thin layer and it will dry flat.

You can find more details on how I created this card in the video below!

Thanks for stopping by today.. Have a great weekend!

Stamping with Distress Oxide Inks

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tutorials, Videos

Happy Tuesday everyone.. It’s Holly here today with a new video and a card using some of the new released Distress Oxide inks and the Concord & 9th Flower Turnabout stamp set.

I started by stamping the Flower Turnabout stamp onto some Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper using Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks. This inks are a Pigment hybrid and can be used to stamp images unlike the regular Distress Inks were you don’t get a clear impression.

After I stamped all the images I added some water with the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer. I used my heat tool to dry the ink and then I added some water splatter with a paint brush and dabbed the excess off with a paper towel. Once everything was dry I added some leaves, dots and flower centers with some Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink. Then I adhered the panel to a card base. I die cut a stitched circle from the MFT Tag Builders 6 die-maics set. I stamped the sentiment using the Black Soot Distress Ink as well and heat set it. Then I adhered it to the card front with some foam tape.

I stamped and fussy cut two additional flowers and added them along the sentiment circle. For a touch of bling I added some Mixed Cupped Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. You can find more details on how I created these cards in the video below.
